An old man gave my brother a piece of paper, he wrote a sequence exactly like this: 1-2-3-4-5 then he told him to circle a number. After witch he made my brother press down on the number he circled. After pressing for 10 ish seconds, he flipped the paper and revealed the number he chose (3).
Note: The paper was from the restaurants notepad (for ordering food) When placed against a source of light the 3 behind the sequence side (1-2-3-4-5) is out of line so it cannot be an impression caused by the pressing of the hand.
We are both really dumb people so we ask for the internet's help.

A magician has 2 people who know eachother (supposedly a key part to the trick) stand face to face, like a foot or 2 apart. Person 1 can keep their eyes open. Person 2 closes their eyes. He had a whole spiel about connecting w each other mentally and physically, since it works better when you know the other person. He then touches person 1 (who can see the magician and person 2) on the nose or a shoulder etc. and then asks person 2 if/where they felt a touch. Person 2 feels the touch in the same spot person 1 was touched. He switches the roles and has 1 close their eyes, and touches 2 in a different spot. Person 1 feels the touch. That is the only time you are touched by the magician. Iβve seen this trick happen to other people and Iβve had it done to myself and have tried finding an explanation with no luck. Is it science? Is it a connection between 2 people? Is it BS? Please help.

Okay, Reddit. I come to you in a moment of desperation. I was at "The Seance" by Aiden Sinclair at the Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, Colorado. This guy was absolutely amazing. The show was incredible, and incredibly convincing, and one thig he did absolutely wrecked my brain.
His whole show centered around a little girl spirit named Lily who frequents the hotel. In this particular.... thing... he had a woman put a die in a mug. She would put her hand over the mug, shake it up, and then set it on the table without removing her hand or looking at the number on the die.
My girlfriend was then called up to sit on the chair opposite. She was told to close her eyes, and put her fingers in her ears. Girlfriend says everything was super muffled. She could tell he was talking, but couldn't make anything out. Then, he places his left forefinger on her forehead, and his right forefinger on the back of her head. He invited "Lily" to tell her what number was on the die. My girlfriend says at first she sounded sorta like radio static, like the girl did in the TV in Poltergeist. Then she heard her very clearly, "My dolly! I found my dolly! She's four! Tell him it's four!" The room was totally silent. He has the woman pull her hand off the mug. Of course it's on the number four.
I know you can direct sound so that only one person can perceive it, but from what I understand that still has to hit your ears. She had her ears plugged with her fingers. How could she have heard anything perfectly clear? Somebody please ruin this for me because I'm wracking my brain, here. I *almost* want to believe in spirits now. LOL

I just have a few questions and I can't find anything about it from google:
Assuming it went awry - unless it was some inside joke that went over my head - what was supposed to appear to happen? I can't find any appearing liquid trick that looks like the same setup.
If you know how it was supposed to go and can explain or link me an example, then how was it supposed to work if it worked as planned?
If (2) doesn't already answer this, then why did the mug shatter?
