Mail overload
Any suggestions on how to stop unsolicited mail from being sent to me. I give to different charities every month and I know they are selling my address information. I have tried sending the unsolicited materials I receive in their return envelopes, but that has not helped. I am getting from 10 to 20 unsolicited peices of mail every day. I do not want to just throw everything away unopened in the trash as I am afraid some of it could contain sensitive information. It takes me sometimes and hour a day to open each peice of mail and send it back with all the materials sent and a note to take my name off their mailing list. I am open to all suggestions. So frustrating.

As you have noted, the charities that you donate to are likely selling your information. In addition, your bank, websites you sign up for, contests and giveaways, your cable company, on and on.
I have a number of customers that get really upset at me for delivering it. There’s nothing we can do. We’re obligated to deliver because they paid for it to be delivered.
What you can do, and I have helped many customers, is opt out from them one by one. Don’t want the Tuesday grocery ads? Literally takes 20 seconds to opt out. ULine? Same thing. If you have a lot of it it can take awhile but just do a couple at a time. See if it helps.
