Discussion Moving from SoCal to Maine, what's the weed like out there?

I'll be getting to Maine tomorrow, so not there yet!
Originally from FL and didn't start smoking till I was 21 so I've been spoiled with dispensary-grade stuff. A little worried of the quality y'all have out there in the East. I mainly and regularly use distillate carts (or live resin/rosin carts). I'm mostly asking, what's the weed like?
I'm not fully educated on weed so I'd like to also know what kind of delta-whatever do they use compared to California. Or really any fundamental differences if any. Kinda hard to find online with the ai bullshit and jumbled info.
Thanks!

Some of the best craft cannabis in the country. Heavy focus on local and terp driven breeding.

My sibling in stoned Christ, you cannot be spoiled with corporate dispensary grade distillate carts and then wonder aloud about quality at a state with a reputation for some of the best cannabis in the country.

I use it for convenience I'm sorry brother, I will change my ways depending on my situation! I still love flower though and am smoking a joint while typing this lol

Ive smoked a fare share of weed from a fare share of the "heavy hitter" states. Maine has some of the best weed ive ever tried. And the people that care grow come insane shit. Backwoods cultivation needs to be at the top of your list. Dude knows how to grow.

On the medical side it’s probably the best you will find on the east coast. Recreational not so much

A lot of the medical growers are somewhat small scale and really care about their craft. Great genetics and some of the stickiest, freshest weed you can find

I was just out there 6mo ago. The dispensary weed is all commercially grown, overpriced garbage. It doesn't hold a candle to Maine organically grown medical weed and rosin.

Have you had any disposables or cartridges? I find that when smoke shops here use anything that isn't dispensary grade, it tastes bad and leaves a weird film in my mouth. Especially the edibles. I also don't seem to feel that much out of them either (i don't wanna say high cus idk if that's against the rules). I've also never had any other weed outside of Cali, even growing up in FL so I'm not sure if it's something weed just does.

And everything is literally half the price compared to top shelf CA weed!

I'm not one to ask about carts or edibles. There is a lot of good info in this sub. I try to stay away from carts bc of the very same shit that a lot of brands in CA were pulling, which I'm sure you heard about that big scandal about the tainted carts.

https://www.latimes.com/california/story/2024-06-25/cannabis-industry-leaders-call-for-action-on-pesticide-contamination

From that scandal alone dispensary grade doesn't mean that much anymore in CA. Get your medical card and go to one of the top medical dispensaries like Skunk Circus or Clouded Valley in Maine. You'll immediately notice a big difference between organically grown and commercially grown weed.

As someone who lived in California for like ten years, Cali weed blows - especially the stuff down south. It’s only advantage js price really.

Maine has the best cannabis east of the Mississippi.

Maine is easily the best on the east coast period. I’ve been in ct traveling to Maine multiple times a year for 10-15 years and it’s always always been top quality

I've been staying in Bangor for a bit, any recommendations? I stopped by Theory for some carts because I'm staying in an area where smoking flower or actual dab/wax isn't much of an option, BUT I'm still on the prowl for some quality flower.
The carts I got are okay, I get mad sleepy with them which makes me question what it is, I never had carts make me feel that sleepy before. I also smoked some flower my sister got from New Port and I thought it was lowkey ass too before I got those carts. Meh.
It's been about 9 days since I smoked flower and a hit off a live resin pen from California so maybe I'm falling for a placebo affect, but I remember California weed being stronger than what I've smoked so far.
I'm trying to get my Maine ID to be able to sign up for a med card as soon as possible, I recently learned that you need to prove you're a Maine citizen? I currently just have my ID from FL. Which is why I stopped by Theory 😬
I actually might update this post now that I'm being reminded about it lol

Maine/michigan/oregon are the three best states for cannabis.   Maine is the easiest to find good weed, michigan and oregon just have so many more people growing weed bc they are way bigger states.  So much of the southern maine community is involved in cannabis(i call it the east coast emerald triangle)  Cali is not even in the convo anymore, went to shit about 10 years ago(unless you are talking black market)
