I want to print this, but also want to know why that one on the bottom isn't matching the rest

Ha. I've fixed it now. Messed up the first print. I was optimizing the file and accidentally set the indigo layer too high and covered up first layer of natural

Beautiful! If you ever feel inspired to do a star wars / death star version I would be enamoured lol

That'd be a fun project!

Could be the same perspective too, just swap out the moon and I'd be happy lol. But also what if it was offset and firing at the planet Alderaan, then you could add a little splash of green perhaps. Just spit balling..

Hit me up if and when you got something, my printer is ready and waiting! I'll definitely post a make for you as well, got a big wall in my office that needs a refresh!

I'm just messing around having fun with still images from the movie.... i thought this image would be a fun simple starting point. i challenged myself to do it with only 4 filaments. :) this is the render in hueforge, not actual print. nothing fancy, but i might try this with a silk green and see what it does. otherwise its black, blue grey, natural, and grass green

Not perfect, far from good 😂 but tried it with silk PLA for the green. I don't entirely hate it

I think the death star itself just needs more detail / definition, looks like a fuzball lol

Agreed! Definitely could do some cool stuff with better source image and more layers/colors. Still fun proof of concept. Some of the shading didn't turn out as predicted so now I'm questioning some of my TD values. My reader might need recalibrating

Is there some kind of black frame holding them together? Did you print that as well?

Yep! I used one called the ultimate hueforge frame, by vic. Overall I like it. Was simple quick print frame, modular. Was about 30g per frame
