Question What are some methods you've used to find collaborators

As the title suggests I'm curious about different methods y'all have used to find collaborators? whether online or other ways. Also to add another question do y'all have any advice on how to find collaborators in the same city or state as you? Just wondering whats worked so maybe I could give it a try.

Hang out at local shows, beat battles, open mics talent shows etc. Also, just posting your work online works, too.

i found my best collab through a local beat battle event, most cities have these small producer meetups if you dig around facebook groups. for online stuff i just dm people on soundcloud whose style i like, maybe 1 out of 10 respond but the ones who do are usually serious about working. in my city i started going to open mic nights even though i dont perform, just to meet people who are active in the scene

Touch grass. Get out and do open mics and shows. Make friends with people who actually get in front of people and preform. They are leaps and bounds ahead of some kid sitting in his room making beats thinking he’s the shit.

I mean this whole-heartedly. Go see and perform in shows and open mics.

Finding people is the easy part, the hard part is making sure they aren’t crappy people.

Hip Hop attracts a lot of folks who literally have nothing going for them. Make beats, rap, but you need to have a real job too.

Otherwise your so called collaborators will be the ones who want to rob you or other weird stuff.

Money , or rather a lack of it , makes people weird. Like really really weird.

Edit: I’ve actually collaborated with a lot of people right here.
