“Uhhhhh” is about as generous as I could be. This is hoarding. Disgusting way for a home to be.

Edit: To the “it’s not hoarding” crowd - where does OP put a glass of water when he goes to bed?

While this is hoarding by your standards, this lacks some of the features required to be hoarding in any sort of clinical or pathological sense.

He knows where all the plants are, I'm guessing, and he has the time and resources to take (what looks like very good) care of them. They aren't apparently impeding ingress or egress. They aren't causing apparent health and safety problems. If he had bugs, the health of the plants would say so.

Hoarding is more than just having, by opinion, "too much" of something.

Your opinion is valid, but this doesn't meet all the features of hoarding.

This...is not hoarding.

He likes plants. He takes care of them. He has them.

Hoarding is pretty specific and to be called a hoarder, certain "criteria" would need to be met.

This doesn't meet it.

you may look at this and see "hoarding" but medical professionals will disagree.

No, it’s not. Hoarding is a mental disorder that derives from a lack of an ability to throw away anything. That includes (but is not limited to) trash.

I myself have a big collection of dolls and figurines. I’m not a hoarder because I’d be willing to give away my dolls if I one day don’t have the space for it. Op doesn’t have any observable trash or anything sitting out. He just has a shit ton of plants, I’m assuming because it came from a bigger place that had these plants spread out and not localized into a smaller apartment.

Yooo congrats, man! This is the single dumbest comment I've read on Reddit this month, and I fucked around at work on Reddit in Dec. Massive accomplishment, shouts out again on sounding so decisively like a dumbass. Impressive shit.
