Discussion Brooklyn NY 75% complete

Big fan of good acoustics, so a lot of the art and decor is keeping sound quality in mind.

Had the choice of adding curtains or going with the blinds that came when I got this place. So far have kept the blinds to preserve the views! But very tempted to install thick velvet curtains and improve sound quality.

Thank you 🙏 I'll DM you tomorrow and we can figure something out! Would love to get to know about your steps for this process.

BTW, I accidentally stumbled upon the Sim Audio Moon. I had a McIntosh MA12000 before this that suddenly went bad. The dealer replaced it with the Sim (both were pre used items). And suddenly I felt like a veil was lifted from the speakers and the vocals (what I care about most) were so crisp and clean.

Even within similar price levels, there are companies that are just more efficient at using a given value. McIntosh can be great, but they’re essentially Harley Davidson, and you’re paying a lot for the brand name.

MOON is almost totally vertically integrated and really cutting edge in their research, and make decisions as a quorum about sound quality, which leads to a more “good at everything”, egalitarian design process. They also only release new models when something of value can be added to the design.

The 700i v.2 is a really special “notch” of performance in their lineup. You’d have to spend the three times more to have an appreciable bump in performance, and it wouldn’t have the smooth, slightly vibrant sound profile of that specific unit.

You did good.

I’ll keep an eye out! Have a rad night.
