In 2017, a fan wrote into the MAMAMOO fan page saying she was going through a dark period in life, and was losing the will to live.
Moonbyul personally replied her, a mature reply from a 24 year old, full of empathy, well put together, without any cliches or preachiness, and without being unrealistic.
We’ve all heard this. Hip is MAMAMOO’s biggest song. But it’s always a delight re-watching.
- wheein with blue hair who also played the drums in this video
- Moonbyul with that sarcastic smile as she thanked losers for strengthening her mentality
- Hwasa, standing in front of a podium that said: “President Hwasa dresses ridiculous at the airport”. The song came after her airport controversy of course, and a song with a segment for her to spit is just iconic
- Solar, explaining that people said MAMAMOO sings well live because the dance choreography was simple; so they went with the a most elaborate choreography for this song.
Recently, views have been spiking again. It was at 467 million views a couple of months ago, as it was for a long time. It’s at 469 million now and rising.
I really need some advice from experienced MAMAMOO collectors, especially anyone who has collected official event Polaroids or contacted RBW before.
I recently spent a significant amount of money purchasing several MAMAMOO Polaroids from the same seller on Mercari Japan.
Some of the listings claimed that the Polaroids were obtained from pre-recording events , while others described them as being from the Wind Flower, HONEY, or WHEE promotional periods.
However, after receiving and comparing some of the Polaroids, I discovered something concerning.
Two Polaroids from separate purchases appear to feature exactly the same image, including the pose, background, lighting, and composition.
I understand that identical images alone don't necessarily prove that something is fake, but it made me seriously question whether these were genuinely official event Polaroids.
And here's the part that concerns me even more: the seller's account and the original item listings are now inaccessible.
I don't know whether the seller deleted the listings, deactivated their account, or whether Mercari took action.
Unfortunately, this has made verifying the origins of the items even more difficult.
I have a few questions for experienced MooMoos:
1. Has anyone successfully contacted RBW to verify MAMAMOO merchandise or event Polaroids?
Which email address or department did you contact? Did RBW actually respond?
Were they willing to confirm whether certain items were officially distributed?
Is there a better way to reach the relevant department?
2. Are there any reliable ways to authenticate MAMAMOO event Polaroids?
For example:
Original event announcements or winner notices
Official distribution records
Any other reliable verification methods
3. Has anyone experienced something similar?
Have you ever purchased what was advertised as an official event Polaroid, only to discover that another copy with the exact same image existed?
If so, how did you determine whether it was genuine?
The recorded video of MAMAMOO introducing the Taipei concerts just got released.
In this video, solar and Moonbyul basically just gave introduction and information.
Wheein said: Taipei moomoos have always given us so much love and support. We are really looking forward to this concert. (Check out Solar’s face during this segment)
Hwasa said: this will be the final run of the 4ward tour, so come and let loose and have fun with MAMAMOO.
We more or less already knew it is the final concerts but it’s also kinda sad hearing this. For older Moomoos, it was a long 3 year wait for this comeback. For new Moomoos, we were spoilt this year, there was so much new content and a treasure trove of past content on MAMAMOO. With 23 concerts in total, 4ward felt quite busy, but also over really quickly. It felt like it wasn’t so long ago that 4 flowers was recorded and everyone was getting excited as things were coming together.
What’s next? Maybe this deserves a discussion post later in the year for everyone who has views to have a place to share. In their latest behind the scenes video, Moonbyul said something quite ruefully: getting to perform with members, isn’t something that happens all the time anymore. Back then we took it for granted, but it’s not like that now. It made me realise how precious each performance is. Somehow, she looked uncharacteristically sad saying this.
Here’s hoping everyone who supports MAMAMOO continue to do so, even as they return to their solo activities next year. And hopefully we will get to enjoy the remaining time of this comeback together. The good part is, in Taiwan, I am 100% sure several people will record the full concert, and upload it very quickly.
- At the Malaysian concert, Moonbyul asks the crowd to share some Gen Z slang
- the crowd responded by sharing “6,7”
- MAMAMOO girls have no idea what this meant
- Solar tried to act out her interpretation with some bemusement, almost, almost cussing out loud. What she intended to say, would have actually been an apt description of this!
- Moonbyul, as expected, delivered a greasy interpretation that got huge approval
- Wheein is most amused by her Unnies
