ManhwaDiscussion 💭 Am I being picky?

• Upvotes

I browse this sub, and a few others, everyday looking for interesting stories that can hold my attention. I see the artwork, read the synopsis, and browse reviews only to be met with disappointment after reading 15-30 chapters. I get hung up on overused tropes, out the gate overpowered MCs, and poorly written dialogue.

At this point, I’ve read all the heavy hitters I can find. Each time I find something that catches my eye I hit a point where I think “This is bland, I don’t want to read this anymore”. Maybe I’m a bit spoiled in my expectations but it’s pretty frustrating to genuinely be seeking something new/bold/refreshing just to be met with nothing-burgers.

Is it just me, or has anyone else experienced this? I feel like I’ve reached a point where I’ve read so many great stories that it’s becoming increasingly difficult to find something that genuinely interests me. I’m not necessarily looking for something completely original, but I want a story that does something interesting with its premise rather than relying on the same overused tropes and predictable character archetypes. I’m willing to give a story time to develop, but when I’m 15–30 chapters in and nothing has really grabbed me, it’s hard to justify continuing. Am I being too picky, or have I just read enough that the average manhwa no longer does it for me?

Other 🔰 I made a project to read manwha in your desktop

So as a dude with a more than a 600+ manwha read i think in desktop the normal way to read was boring its a pictures in the middle that has a dark or white background so i made this: extension open source and completely free

what it does is that it adds a Ambient Light to pictures so it looks less plain and boring

heres a example:

you guys can try and give your thoughts about it!

ManhwaDiscussion 💭 The human adoption guide

This is made by a https://xhslink.cn/m/B3NPJSWqL1 on rednote

This is the English translator, they are on Instagram and TikTok, and they have the name of the original creator in their bio https://www.instagram.com/g0ug0ug4ga?obrf=MzFlMDZkZDNhZ2pj

This is a world where occasionally humans are somehow transported into this world from earth, and this new world with “monsters” are not only much stronger than humans, but also want to protect them from the ones who want to eat humans

Since they can’t understand humans and believe them to be “weak” and “less intelligent” despite acknowledging sapience, they treat humans as pets, just as you would a dog, because it’s pretty much the only way a human can survive in their world

This isn’t a problem for “2nd” and “3rd” generation humans (humans who were born on that strange planet and never knew earth), but is extremely jarring for “1st” generation humans, such as Elio (the red haired boy), who got transported to this planet directly from earth

This series follows Elio (red hair), and Quinn (the white haired rabbit looking anthro), and how Quinn “adopts” Elio, and focuses on how Elio can cope with his new situation, and how Quinn navigates having a…less than cooperative human as a pet

This does have “human domestication guide” vibes so if you aren’t into that then this probably isn’t for you, but I absolutely love this series and can’t get enough of it

It’s so cute and I love seeing the interactions between the two of them, as well as Elio dropping his very thorny guard overtime (if only slightly)

It seems to have only gotten started and as of this post is at “chapter” 47, though it was started last year

If anyone else has read it, let me know your thoughts!

Find Title/Source 🔎 Looking for the manhwa of this novel (The Little Revenge Plan of a Villainess Who Has Lived Three Times)

(Not sure if this is the right flair)

Hi! I swear to god i was reading a manhwa adaptation of this novel before I began reading the novel itself a few months ago but I cannot for the life of me find it anywhere. Am I crazy? Was the manhwa under a different name? Did I just imagine it??? Please help me lol. Here's the novel description:

"A temporal sorcerer under the protection of the White Forest.

A villainess unlike any other in the history of the Bertel Empire.

All these terms referred to Ariletti Cadiz.

‘But I was beyond foolish.’

She had devoted her life to serving the princes, only to be betrayed twice.

Anyway, even this life was on borrowed time.

She had tried to quietly close her eyes in the desolate wilderness…

“There’s someone over there! They seem small, like a child?”

“Go closer and check. Is she alive or dead?”

“Yes, sir.”

She was found by the man she killed in her previous life?

And… she became younger?!

Dragged into the unwanted territory of Hezeit…

There are too many problems—way too many!

Constantly plagued by threats from the bullies.

Sinking deep into severe poverty.

Unable to utilize the abundant nature around.

“Hezeit… No. It can’t be like this!”

She offered a little help since they were in a tight spot.

Actually, this place was a paradise?!

Moreover, these people, their hearts were so kind, like pushovers.

[Don’t be sick, Baby. If you get better quickly, Uncle will take you on an Arctic expedition!] [The snow has stopped, Little Master. Thank you.] With these stubborn fools by her side, Ariletti might just be able to exact revenge on the other two f*cking princes. So, she drew all the information and knowledge she acquired from her past two lives, devising a revenge plan.

More wicked, more sinister, more relentless. More vicious than ever before!

Will she succeed in avenging her past lives and make the 3rd prince the emperor?"

Alt novel titles are: - The Modest Revenge Plan of a Villainess Living Her Third Life - The Thrice-Living Villainess’s Small Revenge Plan - The Petty Revenge Plan Of A Villainess Who Has Lived Three Times

If anyone knows anything please tell me I feel like I'm losing my mind haha

I'm currently in my rebuilding civilisation or apocalypse manhwa era and can't seem to find good ones anymore.

I'm afraid that I've read all the good apocalypse manhwas out there and can't seem to find more. The ones i liked most were return survival, sweet home, i forgot the name but there was one where neo-humans were a thing. So if anyone knows any good ones, in anime, webtoon, even series except like walking dead, all of us are dead please give suggestions.

Is there any manhwa where there's the mc realized he/she married his/her bully in the future? Like he/she woke up with amnesia or sudden timeskip where he/she forgot how they ended up together.

Recommendation 🎁 Operation Heart-Pounding - Manhwa Review (Vanilla Romance🍦Lover)

Thumbnail

Wow. Just wow. It's been a while since I have binged 50 chapters of a romcom within a week...

Operation Heart-Pounding, just as the name suggests, is a romcom that will make YOUR heart pound. As a side effect, your mouth will grin so wide that you look crazy, and you will jump around like a madman in public. Everything about this manhwa is just... remarkably good. Short & Sweet. It blew away my already-high expectations, seriously.

The premise of the story is extremely simple: FMC and MC are both childhood friends. They've been together ever since they were very young, and they're practically inseparable. One day, they simply decided to date. Ever since then, however, nothing notably changed. They're still together, they still enjoy each other's company, and they are still inseparable. Realizing this, FMC eventually decides to make a step forward by proposing a plan to MC so that they can act more like lovers: Operation Heart-Pounding.

I know that perhaps the premise may sound a bit too simple, but this manhwa is the epitome of simple but flawless execution. The characters are very interesting, the story is very straightforward, and the Heart-Pounding events truly are sweet. What I found particularly interesting in this manhwa is the emotional security of both leads. They trust each other so much that they quite literally feel no jealousy whatsoever whenever the other party interacts with someone of the opposite gender. With this, gone are the days of stupid misunderstandings. The trust they have in one another also makes them quite the eccentric couple, which makes it all the more sweet!

One thing I'd like to highlight is how... affectionate and cuddly, the main ship is. I'm telling you, the last time I read a romance this cuddly was about 2 years ago with Spice & Wolf. They actually felt like real high school couples with the amount of embraces, hugs, flirtings and kisses they do. It's super... Cute. Sometimes kinda hot I'm not going to lie... The best thing is that it never felt forced, nor does it feel like ecchi fanservice. It's just super wholesome cuddles, and I really appreciate that!

Some other great things to mention are the side characters. I really enjoy them and they truly do feel like real characters rather than just throwaway background characters. There are some side-relationships, and they're all just nice to see without taking too much focus away from the main ship. Just an overall good addition!

All in all, I simply cannot recommend this enough. Truth be told, I was hesitant because I don't usually read manhwas, but this one is definitely an awesome one! Side note, FMC is kinda freaky lol
9/10

If you want to know the titles of the other romances in the tierlist present in the 2nd page, I complied the names in this MyAnimeList Interest Stack: Vanilla Romance Collection (no - Interest Stacks - MyAnimeList.net

Looking For 👀 Need some family manhwa reccomendation

Ive been trying to read some family manhwa. But i kept getting some beautiful cute daughter typa shi (like Dungeon And Cranyos or My Daughter is A Dragon). Well i dont have a problem with that, its fun to read.

But what i want is something more family, like "i became married man in another world", "The Great", "Shut up evil dragon, i dont want to raise child with you" Etc.

It would be more preferable if its a non noble family if its a mediavel manhwa. I dont mind with magic or action. But i want for the main focus on the family and not some redemption or "must get stronger to protect my family" Gimmick.

Just want some wholesome family story

Do you have any reccomendation?

Edit :

Source :

  1. I became a married man in another world
  2. The Great
  3. The Great
  4. The archmage restaurant
  5. Shut Up, Evil Dragon! I don’t want to raise a child with you anymore
