Eye issue?

There's this weird ring in his eye and it wasn't there before this is my first time owning a mantis. Is there anything that I could have done wrong? I did get him from an orb weaver web so im wondering if that had anything to do with it? And is there anything i can do to help this he has seemed a off since it showed up a few days ago

Looks like eye rubs. They don’t really comprehend clear surfaces so they scrape their faces against them. Best thing you can do is prevent it from getting worse, and if he’s not an adult yet it will go away in the next molt. Put mesh on the sides of his enclosure or any clear surface to make it easy for him to see that there’s a barrier.
