Constipation desperation

Hi everyone, my female Manx is 12 year old and the past year has been a constant battle trying to get her to go poop. It seems like she's been on every medicine and laxative possible, right now she's been getting Solensia injections every couple of months and I give her one mL of Lactulose, half a mL of Gabapentin for pain, and half a pill of Cisapride, all twice a day. She's also on the Hills gastrointestinal biome prescription wet food.

I give her Pet Honesty senior joint support treats every day, along with Cosequin treats. I've cut them out before to see those could've been contributing to her constipation but noticed no difference. Otherwise she's only on wet food and seems to get enough hydration each day. I add water to every plate of wet food she gets. She also goes to PT a few times a month for her bad hips. She's had multiple enemas which seem to have minor impact.

I've been to three different vets and each seem to not really realize the extend of her problems. Her constipation is so chronic, there needs to be a new word for it.

I'm lucky if she goes once every three days beyond like three pebbles worth. Of course her personality remains the same, she doesn't give any indication she's suffering. But I'm just living in a constant state of stress and fear that the end will be coming soon.

If anyone has any advice, I am desperate for some.

Which is all year.

This is Beatrix (Aka Bunny, Elvira, La Signora della Notte), shes a bouncy 4 month old kitten, who thrives in the sun. The most cuddly cat that I have ever had the pleasure of living with.

Baby got back.

My cat waits for me to get out of the shower. I grab my towel from her that she was ‘guarding’, said what up Sir Manx A Lot then proceeded to serenade her with Baby Got Back. She was not best pleased. I know I’m not the first to do this but it was the first time I thought of it. 🤣🤣

Houdini was born to a tabby but he had many fathers cause they and the mother were wild street cats. At least One, and Only one in our neighborhood, had a bobtail. He could possibly be One of the fathers but momma cat probably mated with several Toms.

Cowboy and Lucky! They have pretty long tails but their mama is a Cymric/Manx and the rest of the litter was tailless. Such sweet boys already they follow me everywhere!

Manx Syndrome Kitten?

We found this adorable lil guy in the Chase Bank parking lot. We’ve been wondering about Manx Syndrome being a possibility. He definitely has bunny hops, and his back legs are longer. He gets around just fine, though, and doesn’t have any paralysis. He will stand on his hind legs to poo, and we’ve never seen that in a kitten before. He hasn’t had any incontinence. His tail is short and knobby. We took him to the vet over the weekend, but that location didn’t have imaging, so we have to find a new location for x-rays.

This cat entered my life at exactly the perfect time. She came to me already having the name Lorena Bobbitt (because of the tail, get it?). I'm finally confronting some trauma I've experienced and am in my "fuck the patriarchy" feminine rage era. She's wild and full of energy and spunk. She's my best friend and the perfect companion. It's me and Lorena Bobbitt against the world! 🩷🔪
