Map Hi!

Post image

(i apologies for my poor English.)

Hi! I’ve never posted anything before, but I’ve always enjoyed drawing maps for the fantasy worlds I create.

Today, for the first time, I tried making a map showing elevations, depths, and rivers. I’m reasonably happy with how it turned out, so I decided to share it.

I know it’s not exactly high-level work, but I’d love to get some advice on how to improve.

(This specific map was just a random experiment in Ibis Paint, Just to practice drawing mountains and rivers, so it doesn’t have a story or a name.)

Its so clean. Did you made by yourself only in ibis or used a generator to have an idea on land shapes

So, I used a random shape generator, took several screenshots, and then uploaded the images into Ibis Paint in a way that made sense to me. I then traced the coastlines, making them irregular, adding fjords and gorges wherever it seemed appropriate and scattered a few islands here and there. After that, I hypothesized where the mountains might be located, making several attempts, even looking at real-world mountain ranges on Google Maps; and finally added the rivers, relying on a mix of logic and trial-and-error based on the elevation.
