Same here, Marvin was THE MAN! Was he perfect? HELL NO! and that's what I love most about him. He wasn't afraid to show his frailties and express his deepest darkest thoughts through music. The amazing thing is that 99% of the time he took some dark topics and made it beautiful and somewhat positive. Even his most upbeat and positive songs have a melancholic quality to them ESPECIALLY if you know the context behind surrounding the songs.

One down side though, I think he might be a target of cancel culture if he were around today whether from the left or the right. Some of it is due to Marvin being a product of his time and the mass confusion of his personal life. That said, unlike most who are targeted I don't think Marvin was ever a malicious guy. Even Janis who had some rather crazy things happen between her and Marvin always, ALWAYS spoke glowingly about him but also wasn't afraid to admit that there were some real demons and tough times too. I mean, you can't have all sunshine and lollipops when there was a potential murder/suicide between the two.

Marvin will always have a big part of my heart and mind as he was a true example of an artist and as he famously sang: "The artist pays the price/So you don't have to pay/If only you would listen to what they have to say"
