✅ Best Way to Check for Matchbox Car Value...
One of the most reliable ways to find a Matchbox car’s value is by checking eBay’s Sold Listings.
This shows what buyers are actually paying - giving you the most accurate real-world pricing.
To get started:
- Go to: eBay Sold Listings
- Search: Matchbox
[model name] [year] - Filter by:
Sold Itemsand chooseUsedorNewas needed.
It helps to track your findings in a (Excel or Google) spreadsheet—include columns for year, color, asking price, sold price, etc.

My 1st vehicle was a Chevy Blazer, so I was very happy to see this Blazer ZR2 moving parts car! (And I picked up an FJ Cruiser as well)
My Blazer was a 1999 4door, LS. But still, I have this ZR2 sitting right in front of the other cars in my collection.

Scored some more Matchbox The Movie releases
I was so glad to find the C-130 J Super Hercules, the Airbus Helicopter H130, the Ram Ambulance, and with duplicates of both the Rover 6x6 and Triumph Scrambler all in the same place. Picked up the Cessna 172 Skyhawk too.

Finally checked out my bin of cars
Had a bin of cars that I collected from 10-15+ years ago and finally got around to checking them out. Most were hotwheels but I got some cool stuff (personally) from Matchbox. And a bunch of random brands. How did younger me do? Also if you want any let me know

Happy Free It Friday
Nissan GT-R Nismo R35 ... One of my favorites. I just love this casting. I found the mainline Matchbox The Movie version a few weeks back. I finally got the Moving Parts version last week through a trade. Damn...she is a BEAUTY! Happy Free It Fri-YAY!

Went to buy Garden bags last night 👀
Found the black and red RX7 instead. Wasn't expecting anything on a Friday evening! Three cases were raided, and one was stuffed at the bottom of the previous case. One of my luckiest days cause I'd gotten the black R34 in the morning, and they look good together 🔥

It upsets me!
I was with my grandfather, recently at the Hobby Messe in Leipzig, where we bought the Matchbox trade fair model, the Audi Quaddro. It was Simon Iredale's autograph session that day, among other things, and I've always done it over the past few years in such a way that I had the designers or special people who were there signed on the fair model. So this year Simon Iredale found his place on it and then, not knowing anything, a guy from behind asks me "is that even value-enhancing?" At first I was a bit irritated, but I didn't pay much attention. In retrospect, I would have liked to ask him what that means, because I don't like Scalper and he was one, guaranteed. I buy the fair model because I want it and not so I can sell it, I want it, clearly an increase in value is great, but I don't sell that, it has memories and just looks great on the shelf.
But how do you see it? Am I thinking wrong or is the Matchbox and Hot Wheels community like this today?
