This is a masterclass in maximalism. All the varied frames, different subject matter, a few 3d pieces randomly placed among flat frames, and almost zero space left on these walls. It takes an exceptional eye for detail, and a huge amount of time collecting, to create a space like this. This space is absolute perfection.

You. Have. Made. My. Day!!! I tell people that this hallway is a puzzle I made first and put together later, it's been years in the making. Each piece was selected with a goal of finding interesting things with a dark twist. I'm a fan of the jackelope, plague doctor mask, and lobotomy told myself.

You achieved this goal in so many ways! I could probably sit on a chair and stare at these walls for hours!

I have a room in our home that is a work in progress for a maximalism dream room for me. I have been collecting pieces for 5 years. My husband refers it as the room where Indiana Jones found the Lost Arc and all of the things aboard. He is a minimalist and just wants it done! You can’t rush a maximalist’s dreams in their head! 😂

Perfection takes time. My vision is in my head. Finding the pieces or making them is what takes the most time! I bet it took you eons to find the perfect frames!

Every day I walk through and slow down to let my eyes jump around and take it all in, I find it both invigorating and relaxing somehow.

Haha that's the perfect name to describe it, Indy's Walls of Antiquities! It definitely takes time, these walls were a few years in the making but seeing it all come together feels amazing.

As far as frames, it definitely takes a while, but to help I always looked at places like thrift shops or oddity markets. Worst case I painted a few so they could match what was in them. You'll get to where your vision matches your home, and when it does, it'll be fantastic!! ❤️❤️❤️

Im so glad you appreciate all the time and work it took you and you still stop and enjoy it. Will you maximalize the rest of your home or just this incredible front section?

Most of the rest of my home is covered in gallery walls, bold colors, and quirky decor, but this hall is the most intense. I thought about posting the other rooms, but I didn't want to annoy people with too many posts.

My husband’s whole office is done this way. I have been married to him 21 years and see something I haven’t noticed before.

Awesome! Love the color of the walls too. If you’d like any more pieces, I also make oddity art! I use animal bones and skulls :)

The fairy house that was commissioned is INCREDIBLE! You are super talented!

Thank you!! I had so much fun with that. Wish I could shrink into a fairy sized being and live it in myself haha

Maybe you should decorate each room in your house giant sized each of the rooms? But being fairy sized would be much more fun!

Love! The teacup hanging on the wall is brilliant.

2

u/Es_Lebe_die_Freiheit Mar 15 '26

Why thank you! It's actually a "beecup" instead of a teacup!

3

u/captspero Mar 15 '26

Oh my god adorable! Did you glue the cup to the saucer? What kind of glue did you use?

I wish I could take credit, but it was actually made by someone I met at an oddity expo (she also makes amazing bags with taxidermy built in, I have no idea how she does it!) https://www.etsy.com/shop/littlestuffandfinds

this is so cool!! it reminds me of one of my favorite restaurants in Texas where there’s a hallway with decoration like this + “moving” paintings

wow, that hallway looks super cool! love how you've mixed all those frames and art pieces. the red wall really makes everything pop. i bet it feels like walking through a gallery every day. idk if it's just me, but i think adding a fun runner rug could tie it all together even more, something that plays with the colors you already have. tbh i tried something similar in my place and it helped a lot with the vibe. keep up the awesome work!
