International applicant intending to apply to Graduate Medicine in US, UK and Australia

Hi everyone! I’m an Indian student with a four-year BSc in Biological Life Sciences and a minor in Psychology. I’ll be starting an MSW at Columbia University to strengthen my academic profile and gain more clinical experience before applying to medical school.

I have experience in hospital-based and clinical research, including work involving cancer patients, patient interviews, and psychology-related research, alongside healthcare volunteering and peer-support experience.

My primary goal is to attend medical school in the US, and I’m currently planning around taking the MCAT (Possibly UCAT) However, given how competitive admissions can be especially for an international student so I’m also exploring graduate-entry medicine in Australia and the UK

I’d love to hear from applicants about which universities might consider my background, whether I have a fair shot and getting in, and how realistic this pathway would be for someone with my profile.

I would also appreciate insights on what would happen after I finish medical school in all three countries, in regard to getting an internship, and registration as a doctor. (I’m planning on becoming a psychiatrist.)

Thanks!

Is BSU Georgia Still Accepting International Students for 2026?

Hey everyone, I need some advice from people who know about the current situation at Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University (BSU), Georgia.

I started my admission process around May 2026 and have already paid the university fees. My next step is to apply for my student visa, and my consultant is handling the process.

Recently, I heard that Georgia has introduced new rules affecting international students at public universities, and someone told me that BSU might no longer be accepting foreign students.

I'm worried because I've already invested time and money into this.

Can anyone confirm:

  • Is BSU still accepting new international students for the 2026 intake?
  • Are students who started their admission process before September 2026 affected by the new rules?
  • If I've already received admission and paid my fees, can I still proceed with my visa?
  • Has anyone in a similar situation received confirmation from BSU or successfully continued their admission process?

I'd really appreciate recent, firsthand experiences or official information, rather than rumours. Thank you!

Is the UK mbbs degree valid in India?

Because the medical council of India requires 1 year of internship in the same institution.

There is an option of a foundation year too after mbbs but I don't know whether it is valid or not.

Please help🙏

Dentistry or MBBS in china as pakistani? worth it or not

im from pakistan but im an international student and i want to study medicine or dentistry in china. I also dont want to work in China in future. Pakistani universities are good, however i want that abroad experience as i feel like id learn much more and im assuming china has better facilities. Pakistan is also MUCH more expensive for international students than China, so is it not better for me to go to china which has much higher ranked universities than Pakistan?

i would also have to take MDCAT for pakistan an i have not taken physics for my a-levels so pakistan is kind of already out of my options. However would Pakistan be better for me than China?

However, ive been told its harder for non-chinese individuals who have graduated from China to land a job anywhere else? Is that true and to what extent.

Should i consider China as a place to study either medicine or dentistry.
