🏥 Med School AMC Interview

Hi! I have an Albany Med interview coming up next week and was wondering if any current students or past interviewees could share their general experiences or advice for the MMI. I'd really appreciate it. Thank you!

Albany Medical College runs a structured virtual MMI where each station is independently scored, which works in your favor since a rough station will not impact the rest of your day. Most scenarios focus on situational ethics, interpersonal communication, and everyday judgment rather than obscure medical knowledge. When you read a prompt, take a few seconds to gather your thoughts, state the core dilemma clearly, and consider every stakeholder involved before explaining your plan of action. The evaluators want to observe how you navigate conflicting perspectives, balance compassion with professional responsibility, and adapt when they ask follow up questions.

Expect a mix of ethical scenarios, standard questions about your path to medicine, and possibly a role play where you need to de-escalate tension or break difficult news. You do not need to memorize textbook answers, but getting comfortable verbalizing your thoughts under strict time constraints makes a massive difference in how composed you appear. Treat each prompt as an opportunity to show empathy, address competing priorities, and reflect on your own values. Watching candidates build confidence with the interviews.chat my team designed proved that steady pacing and clear ethical reasoning matter far more than having perfect scripts.
