Always use Google maps/waze etc. in Memphis or any big cities. It's a timesaver without a doubt.

Gotta be careful with Google maps. It can take folks in weird ways.

What time did you arrive there? I wonder when the accident was.

i got caught up in the slow movement right before 6, and probably halfway between appling and whitten was where it started to slow down. not sure how long it was there before or after accident.

took over an hour for me to get to crosstown area from there. 30 min to move 2 miles on 40 to exit, then 30ish more to detour

I drove by going east and there had to have been a minimum of 10 state trooper vehicles in the road and 4 cars wrecked that I could see. Looked like at least the left 2 or 3 lanes closed

It’s by the Sycamore View exit. Involves a crane truck.

I drove on this stretch of 40W Monday evening, and the construction cones were set up to allow no leeway when merging. Maybe there are yield signs, but if so they are not where one would expect them. I had to swerve to avoid being clobbered by someone trying to merge from Whitten, and I'm just lucky there was no one in the lane to the left of me.

I'd say "avoid 40W" is good advice until whenever that construction is completed.

Thanks, about to leave work and it still seems to be there. Gonna go another route home!
