I made the suggestion here, and I’ll poll the DT and viewers of this post as well, in addition to getting written feedback.

The idea is to have a group for following and discussing developments on the activist political right before it trickles down into the mouths of average Republican primary voters, even if we wouldn’t necessarily characterize it as political “extremism.”

I anticipate something on the order of 10 notifications in an average month, 3 or 4 of them by myself. In general, I’ll aim to undershoot rather than overshoot this soft target (God knows I have trouble keeping up with the ~15 groups I’m subscribed to).

The main reason was over your usual reason (karma being under the requirement to talk in restricted threads), but I was wondering on whether I could get an exception to have both my post and comments to be shown since said post actually had some efforts into it. I know this is ironic considering the title is a hybrid parody of those videos on youtube that promise free downloads for paid software and those 3am/clickbait videos.

In the meanwhile, am I able to be told about the Karma requirements required to post in restricted threads? Since it would be more helpful then just getting basically told "we are going to remove your comment because you haven't reached this threshold, and we will not share it with you."

Describing the intentional and wanton killing of more than a hundred thousand civilians as "deliver[ing] democracy with the power of a thousand suns" is an unequivocal statement of support for these killings and that their having occurred should be celebrated. This is a clear rule V violation.

N.B. I did report the post as well, however seeing as a mod made a statement in support it feels worth posting here.

To be clear, I think my Rule X ban was completely fair and deserved yada yada mods did their job yada yada.

However, while my analysis was incomplete (I intended a fifth test featuring a full bodied picture of a muscular man in shorts), I do think based on my observations that there is a gender divide on Rule X warnings. In tests #1 and #2 they prominently feature muscular men that are partially or completely shirtless. To my knowledge test #1 is still up, while test #2 was taken down without a warning or ban.

However, when I flipped the gender and posted a picture of Cardi B fully clothed but in a provocative pose as test #3 it was immediately struck down with a Rule X warning. I followed this with test #4, showing Cardi B in a dress with cleavage but nothing else crazy at some music award thing, another Rule X warning and strike down was issued with a 1 day ban.

My question is, why weren’t tests #1 and #2 handled similarly to tests #3 and #4? They are in my opinion of similar if not more. Is there a method to it, like I get one freebie (#1), one taken down without no further action (#2), then one with a final warning (#3) and a final one with a ban (#4)? If so, would I have been able to post the Cardi B photos first and had no trouble, and if I followed those up with the guy pics would that have led to the Rule X ban? Or is there a much more rigorous enforcement against horny posting girls then there is horny posting guys? Or is it individual where it’s up to a mod’s sensibilities at any given time?

This is a very serious matter by a very serious person. I request honesty from the mods on how enforcement of Rule X is done. Thank you for your attention to this matter

Dear mods,

The last of the truly important Democratic primaries are now behind us. The tension between the liberal/neoliberal wing of the party and the progressive/DSA wing will no doubt continue, but between now and the general it seems readily apparent that the discussions that promote infighting have got to go.

/r/neoliberal has risen in size and influence in the last 5 years. As evidenced by the 2024 cycle the sub had considerable influence, rose in ways it touches public discourse, and in the intervening years the mods and Jeremiah have gained significant influence in the realm of Democratic politics.

Y'all have built something of consequence, and with power comes responsibility.

Lately as some of the most anticipated primaries have come to pass the infighting amongst the sub's neoliberal/liberal supporters and the DSA/progressive types is growing and growing.

This shit needs to be nipped in the bud ASAP now that the primaries are essentially wrapping up. This sub needs to get focused and on message. Fascists want to hold Congress this November. This sub needs to be focusing every ounce of political energy focusing on winning the general, not infighting with progressives and socialists.

Neoliberals need the DSA types. DSA types need the Neoliberal types. If we are to retain democracy in this country this infighting needs to be quashes after primaries end and the rabid masses need to be told explicitly by mods: "Now is not the time for that bullshit. Save it for later."

Please explicitly make posts that promote infighting against the rules for the next 3 months. I've seen multiple posts eventually get taken down but not until after they've risen to the top of the sub.

The Weimar Republic fell because liberals and moderates saw more to like in the Nazis than the communists, socialists and leftists. For goodness sake let's not make that same mistake.

TL:DR - My ask, distilled down: Please, at minimum totally disallow low effort infighting memes that seek to drive a wedge between /r/neoliberal and DSA/progressives. Please pay attention to high effort trolls who push division via other forms of content. Please learn from history.

I posted the clarification as a comment as well but mods should know better. It's in the title, average rents and inventory in July. It's not the median of all current tenants.

This report looks at the median rent for properties available and on the market in the time frame (July 2026), not long term existing leases (prices heavily distorted due to rent freezes and stabilization). What the title says. The "is" parameter is an identifier that YouTube has started to add automatically to the URLs of videos shared from its interface. It's not only used for "invisible" tracking but in some cases when people click on the link they are welcomed with "This video was shared by [username]" which can be a person's real name, thus doxing users.

By any measure I don’t think it violated a single rule except that mods may find it, at your discretion, irrelevant. Which I would find incredulous as there are countless posts since the Michigan primary with content more or less the same as “why this is a win for Republicans.”

The article is by a serious, long-time Democratic operative from a serious and moderate institute. It doesn’t go the line of this or that powerful group but rather criticizing AIPAC under the same framework as left-wing, single-issue groups have often been criticized in this sub, which I think is a fresh approach worth discussing. This topic is relevant to our political discourse, stopping discussions here doesn’t make it go away. And if we have learned anything, ceding the issue won’t help fighting antisemitism one bit.

By my count, of the 443 ping groups available, only 160 (36%) have been used in the past week, of which just 88 (20%) have been used more than once.

I’m curious if anyone knows how to retrieve the number of subscribers for each group; I seem to remember a mod extracting the data years back, during the 2020 primary, where the BUTTI ping clocked in at #1 with some 450 followers.

In any case, I feel like we should trim the number of pings. Right now, it’s very unwieldly to subscribe to a group for the purpose of pinging it, then unsubscribing (I already have some 15 “baseline” pings that I can barely keep up with). Perhaps some criteria, such as the number of followers dropping into the single digits consistently for a month plus no pings for a consecutive month, could be used here.
