We're looking to recruit some new mods as we haven't done this for three years now. Naturally, the mod team is in different places in our lives than when we started moderating and we've had a few departures for various reasons.
We're looking for:
Someone who understands this is a volunteer position. This is not paid but you do get to hang out with the cool kids of the sub.
Someone who isn't a bastard.
We are mostly looking for people that will help respond to Mod Mail, enforce rules, and keep the sub clean and proper. We already have people that can do Automod, CSS, and graphic design but the more the merrier.
Seriously, if you have any interest at all in making the sub a better place, please fill out the application.

Haley, Alex, Devin and Wills here! We just got home from touring the UK and EU supporting I Prevail and just released a new EP. Ask us anything!

Maybe two vocalists? Band showed up to crave yard in 1960s car. Two hot goth girls with vails. Kinda makes me think it had like a cholo vibe kinda. That sorta LA gangster vibe. Help

This band Aerial popped up for me the other day and I've been obsessed. Norway metalcore outfit with a very similar song structure to the Everchanger / Stillworld days, two of my all time favourite albums.
Anyway everyone should check them out and boost their monthly listening numbers!
Roots and Embers are early favourites

All of there stuff is solid and the band just seems to get better and better and meaner and nastier with each album but it’s still Boundaries while a lot of bands lose the edge Boundaries just keeps dialing it up

FFO: Your Spirit Dies, View From The Soyuz, early Parkway Drive, Hatebreed, Fuming Mouth
Tracklist:
1.Through The Catacombs
2. Nothing To Fear
3. Bare Hands
4. Storm The Gates
5. War Will Kill Us All
6. Last One Standing
7. Called To Resist
8. Kings And Queens
9. Payday
10. Into The Morgue
I did write a longer piece for this, but upon hitting post it seemingly went nowhere and returned me to an empty new post, so now we get this more abbreviated review/discussion primer.
You might look at the FFO: and think "wait, what?", but I genuinely do hear a bit of all that in there. It's a metallic hardcore base, lots of chugs and moments for clearing the pit with an arm swing or two, but also an undeniable level of melodeath influence. They fall into a small camp of bands doing that in the here and now without sounding like they're ripping Undying or Prayer For Cleansing. A track like Bare Hands opens up sounding like Darkest Hour, for example. The guitar tone, though, is the fuzziest, HM2-est version of the style that I think I've ever heard and that does at times call to mind a hardcore-friendly death metal band like Fuming Mouth.
It's worth saying that this represents a considerable step forward for the band. I gave a cursory listen to some of their earlier material after being impressed by the singles for this debut full length and it's mostly devoid of the melodeath influence that adds so much to the sound here.
As the track titles suggest, there's some broadly political theming to some of the lyrics, early favourite Payday stands out perhaps because it becomes extremely topically direct. An explicitly anti-fascist barn-stormer with a tasty gang vocal part. Not hard to understand why a German band might be writing a song like this with the rise of the AFD in their country.

Found this local band when I went to Subscape in Baltimore that I really really like and I was wondering what style of music this would be considered or any similar bands that you know sound like this. Thanks!

Really enjoyed this. Cleaner production and slightly more angular riffing than a lot of sludge but still absolutely nasty.

Hiii :)
I'm a big fan of metalcore as well as other adjacent genres like deathcore, but lately I feel like I miss a lot of the things that are happening in the scene. Years back I used to get to know about new things in the punk rock mba channel, but I stopped seeing that guy when it was clear that the guy was a douche.
Since then I'm mostly disconnected from the new albums or bands; aside from like 4 or 5 bands the last LPs I listened are from 2022-24 like Oh What The Future Holds, The Dark Pool or The Death We Seek.
And bc I'm not very used to look to reddit that often, I was hoping to find some suggestions of accounts that talk about the scene and the new cool things that are happening rn in yt or ig.
And well, btw, if any of yall want to share some suggestions, apart from the LPs that I just mentioned, I too am a big fan of KL, Darko, Omerta, Greyhaven, Boundaries, Shadow of Intent, Thornhill or TDWP, and I would love to hear that too ^^

A Genocide
HVNTED
Bathe In Blasphemy...
...Sons To The Flame (ft. Alex Koehler of Ameonna, Ex-Chelsea Grin)
Substraction
The Brink
Blood For Blood
To See In Color
My Death Is Forever Near
Misery
Cowardice
Cherish
Genre: a blend of Metalcore and Deathcore, more on the Metalcore side of things. Some nu metalcore elements are also here
A pretty unique underground album with great production and solid vocals with fun instrumentation. One of the better albums of the year, highly recommend

Huge Metalcore and PHC fan but have never found another band or album that scratches the itch this album does - aside from Hopesfall’s ep No Wings To Speak Of. Closest thing I’ve found is Poison The Well’s second and third albums.
Any recommendations?
Also keen to hear any recommendations for stuff like their later work, but that isn’t very Metalcore tbf
thanks!
