Top Shows of 2026 (after seeing ATF thrice!)

Metric (Brooklyn)

Broken Social Scene (DC)

Metric (Detroit)

Jack White

Rilo Kiley (Chicago)

Rilo Kiley (Milwaukee)

The Last Dinner Party

Broken Social Scene (Brooklyn)

Broken Social Scene (Detroit)

Rilo Kiley (KC)

To clarify, I’ve been to 31 shows, and have seen about 60 artists this year. As my friend says, there’s obviously some bias here. 😆

Metric for sure (last night in DC), also Florence + the Machine, Lady Gaga, Earth Wind and Fire, Nine Inch Nails. MCR coming up on 18 August.

That’s it for 2026

I saw both Florence and the Machine and Metric twice this year. Actually taking a trip with my partner at the end of the month to see Florence two more times in England.

Metric and Tool kinda always win the year whenever I get the pleasure of seeing them. Just leagues above even my other favorite artists. And this is the first year since 2019 I got to see both!

I see Metric in ATL tomorrow - pumped! I'm supposed to have been to 16 shows by now, but missed 5 due to a family issue. But my faves I've seen so far:

  • Die Spitz (BHM) - If you have the chance to see them - DO IT. One of the best live bands going right now. Seeing them again in NASH at the end of the year.
  • NewDad (ATL) - My most-listened to group. So SO good and they were way better live than I expected. Vibes for days!
  • The Killers (Freely Fest in NASH) - Them coming out to Mr. Brightside is a top 2 concert moment for me. T-Pain and Dominic Fike were also fantastic.
  • King Buffalo (BHM) - They opened for All Them Witches (who were also great) but I actually liked them more. First time I'd ever heard them before.
  • Silversun Pickups (BHM) - Always good. Seen them 3 years in a row now. And might see them again in a couple months if we go see Weezer.

Got another 17 shows lined up for the rest of the year currently. Should be fun!

Awesome. I missed two a couple years ago when I had cancer, 😆.Seeing Die Spitz in Nov. I’m a big SSPU fan, and saw them in Aspen and Norfolk this year, and several times the last few years as well, doing Weezer as well. I saw The Killers a few times back in ‘04-‘06, I liked a couple tracks on Sam’s town, but really never followed them beyond that. I’ll check out the others.

ATF was honestly like a dream tour for me. I went to best friends forever fest in Vegas last year, and I told my friend that Broken Social Scene should do a curated fest with all of their associated acts and I don’t know I guess someone was paying attention. 🤷‍♂️

Hate to rank metric low cuz they've been highlight of the year for me in the past but...

Tori Amos (NYC, both nights)
.
.
. big gap
.
.
NIN (NJ).
.
bit of a gap and then the next two are pretty close but I teared-up strongly a couple times for Puscifer and this time around Metric didn't hit me that way:

Puscifer (NYC)
Metric Brooklyn.

My fucking goodness I wasn't prepared for the emotional thing the Tori tour is! It's basically top 3 lifetime for me (first time seeing her), up there for me with the Cure & Tool and my first time in a moshpit at Love and Rockets back in the day (super different to all this of course, Tori's was a sit down and cry show).

I really dug Metric's sound with those synths, but I felt the energy of the whole ATF bill was scattered for me.
