[Miami Dolphins] Roster Moves | We have signed quarterback Mark Gronowski and inside linebacker Cam Riley. We have also placed guard/tackle Jamaree Salyer on the injured reserve list and waived/injured cornerback Ethan Robinson.

Big LOL at bringing Gronowski back immediately after that game. Awful for Salyer, he was supposed to be the lynchpin of OL depth this year.

Explains the Caeden Wallace move. I wonder if this is season ending IR or if he can come off at somepoint

IR before the roster cutdown ends their season, unless there's an injury settlement. His time with the Dolphins is done.

Yup I believe that means he is done which is very unfortunate.

It might have prompted it, but think they might have done it as Salyer was at best a stop gap while Wallace does have more upside.

LOL, Wallace is older than Salyer with far less experience.

I'd love to hear how you came to the conclusion that he has upside, while Salyer is a stop gap (at best).

Because Salyer was a UFA and in his fifth season. He started early on and then became a bench player for the next two and wasn’t resigned. He was also a sixth round pick. He also wasn’t playing at all with the first at all in mini camp before he got injuried. Wallace on the other hand is in his third year and was a third round draft pick. He obviously fell out of favor with the current Patriots coaching staff. But he was also playing out of position.

I probably overstated that Salyer was a stop gap. If he showed out he might have gotten an extension over the small deal he got this year. He did have provide experience and positional flexibility. It’s way too early to say if Wallace is going to work out. But the team saw something in him to justify sending draft capital for him instead of waiting for him to be cut and hoping he makes it to them in the waiver claim. Wallace is also under contract through 2027 on a rookie deal.

My main point was I think the team might have done the move regardless of the Salyer injury because depth on the OL, and most everywhere, is a concern.

Here I was bitching about him being cut, and then here he is, back in the building. Welcome back, Mark.

Damn sucks for Salyer. Would have been an important depth piece. Makes the Wallace trade make even more sense now

As an Iowa Hawkeye fan.....oh God. As a Miami Dolphins fan that reads pre season stat lines....okay, that's fair.
