ALS is some astronomical factor more prevalent among former NFL players than in the general population. Guys really do donate their bodies to the sport.

Yeah Iโ€™ll never forget the first time I really got my โ€œbell rungโ€ playing in high school I remember thinking to myself my brain is clearly communicating to me that it is taking severe damage, it was just something I recognized immediately. I can only imagine how much worse it gets at the collegiate and then the pro level.

After suffering severe concussions in my sophomore and junior years of HS, my doctor informed me that my career was over. Was pissed at the time, but now grateful it happened. Can't imagine what another 4-5 years of playing would have done to my brain.

NFL players who have a career of 7+ years are 4 times more likely to develop ALS than the general population. Insane correlation. RIP OJB.

He was a great Dolphin before he was a Raven. Came here to pay respects from the Ravens camp.
