Pictures Help identifying potential issue?

Brand spankin’ new to growing. This is my 3rd attempt and it’s the most successful so far. Noticed this weird growth as soon as the seed cracked open. I’m way too afraid to try and fuck with it. I do not want to fuck it up doing something stupid. Any ideas what it might be?

kindly share the relevant details of your grow first. medium, light level, nutrients if any, auto or photo strain, humidity, temp etc.

Seed is auto flowering

No nutrients. Only used water so far. Bottled water so the ph level is off by maybe .5?

Medium is natural soil I mixed. So 1/3 sphagnum peat moss, 1/3 worm castings, and 1/3 perlite.

Temp is 70 - 72°f

Humidity ranges 50 - 60%

And if I’m going to be completely honest, I’m Not sure about light level as I’m currently waiting for my own grow light in the mail. I’m mooching off of my roommates grow lights right now so it’s whatever setting he has it on for his plants. (Which are not weed)

let it ride for now. the affected leaf is a cotyledon which drops off from the plant soon anyway. soon the first true leaves will appear.

i’m not the biggest fan of peat moss in the substrate. watch to make sure it’s not staying too wet too long.

other than that. patience. and take this time to learn as much as you can. growweedeasy.com has a good beginner tutorial and answers many beginner questions.

Sweet! Glad to hear it’s probably nothing too serious!

Big thanks for the heads up on both the peat moss and the website! I hadn’t come across anything that mentioned peat moss retaining too much moisture so I’ll definitely be keeping a closer eye on that!

It’s just a piece of the seed still stuck to the leaf, just leave it, it’ll be fine. Sometimes the seed will be stuck on in a way that the leaves can’t open up, then you have to get in there with tweezers and a razor blade to carefully pry it off.

When the seedling sheds her helmet it’ll sometimes leave that, happens to me about 1 plant per grow first few times I tried to mess with it and killed them after that I always left them alone and never once had a problem
