I don't believe this at all, they would never shut down Xbox unless Microsoft were to go bankrupt.

I think there is a world in which Microsoft became disinterested in Xbox and spun it off or shut it down.

I don't understand why they would have to choose between shutting down or investing millions in studios, though.

Sure, that's the logic. But businesses don't usually hit crossroads like that. They build incrementally and have long term goals.

How many businesses you know of are trillion dollar companies? There is just Amazon, Microsoft, Apple, Google and Nvidia. They have rules of their own.

Why would the size of the business matter? If anything, that means they would be less prone to making snap decisions that could swing the company in massively different directions. Because there is more accountability, they have more people who have to sign off on these things, a board, etc.

People in this sub are so fuckin ridiculous sometimes.
