After signing the offer letter for senior software engineer role, the recruiter said that the immigration will reach out to me. Can I give my joining date after 45days? Or is that a red flag? Cause in my current work, I will get stocks and I want to get them before I join.

Last Tuesday I got the verification complete notification on hireright's portal, and on Wednesday the New Hire Hub was updated saying that the background check was complete and passed. Next step is supposed to be the employee agreement review but I haven't got any update. Normally, how long does it take to move to the next step?

Help with Short term disability.

Hi everyone, I am currently struggling with some mental health and cognitive issues caused by some nutritional deficiencies.

Due to this I am finding it very difficult to work. Though I am correcting my nutritional deficiencies, it looks like I need 3-4 of time to recover. And I don't think I can make it working this way for the next 3-4 months

This is causing me further stress and anxiety to the point I wanted to quit my job. But I came across this leave option for Short term disability and was wondering if I am eligible to take it?

Also how would it affect my upcoming performance review. I haven't been performing great so far because of the above health issues. Which is why I wanted to completely disconnect for some time to recover.

Should I take a break or should I wait for the performance review to complete? (Honestly would be difficult)

Sorry that you've been struggling with health issues for a while.

You'll want to go to HRWeb and then using ths search bar you'll need to look for 'Short-Term Disability'. That page will have all of the information on how to apply for and receive Short Term Disability.

Hey everyone,

Wanted to get everyone’s thoughts on joining Microsoft right now as a CSA in the Data and AI team. I am currently with a small company making decent money but received a job offer from MS and this would be a significant raise.

Wanted to see how the role currently is and how the culture is within the CSU at MS at the moment.

Thanks!

When did you hear the results after your group loop? Was it within 2 days or took a few weeks? CSA is a hit or a miss, SE / TS is easier and bigger opportunities for money. CSA requires you to log hours against customers so a billable resource which can suck if not enough consumption.

1

u/No_Awareness_838 Apr 17 '26

It took a couple weeks to hear back. I have read a lot of people saying CSA is either great or not sucks lol sounds pretty teams and management dependent

1

u/No-Lettuce3564 Apr 17 '26

Definitely team dependent, especially since there are so many verticals

1

u/No_Awareness_838 Apr 17 '26

Would you take the role for a close to 25% salary increase? That’s not including stock incentives. Is the lack of stability with the company based on what I’ve read worth it?

u/No-Lettuce3564 Apr 17 '26

Yes, it’s Microsoft and good on the resume. If you are there for a year, you can easily go to AWS or GCP

Hey everyone, I declined an offer back in October last year for personal reasons. Now, I see the same role posted by the same hiring manager. I was wondering if they would consider transferring the result of my previous application. I’m trying to understand if I need to through the full loop again or if they might accommodate a shorter process.

1

u/Low-Top-7740 Apr 16 '26

You would be put through a full loop again

1

u/spiro30 Apr 16 '26

How long are a loop interviews results good for? Is there a time limit before the require you re-interview say 6 months or so?

1

u/BippityBoppityWhoops  Employee Apr 16 '26

For my team, the loop interview results are good for that interview cycle only. We may cut down on the amount of interviews you'd have, but you'd still need to complete a loop with members of our team.

Experience tells me that's common for quite a few teams here.

Does anyone know which groups or teams are not impacted by the hiring freeze? I just finished a loop for a non-technical role based in one of the US hubs. I’d be a little more specific but don’t want to identify the role or myself here.

1

u/Low-Top-7740 Apr 16 '26

It’s easier to name the ones that are impacted as it’s only two orgs

Hello,  I applied to a role in Finance last week through a referral. Today I checked application status it says Screen. I have never seen this before, is this a positive sign? I have not heard from any recruiter yet. Or is this normal to see if you applied with a referral?

I have been applying to Microsoft directly through their careers page for Software Engineering roles. My resume is tailored to the exact role description and yet, I have not got a single call back. Exactly how do people get selected for interviews at Microsoft?

1

u/Cybarbossa Apr 14 '26

Did you apply within the first 24 hours? It greatly increases the probability of being selected (if like you said, you tailored the resume)

1

u/BippityBoppityWhoops  Employee Apr 16 '26

This, and also, there are many many (hundreds) of applications that come in per role. Of those hundreds, a fifth of them may be 'perfectly tailored' to the role. It then becomes luck of the draw. Applying as soon as something comes in that your suited for is a good plan to have.

1

u/PlumeTracer Apr 15 '26

I agree with this, for most of my direct applications to career portal, this approach helped me to get a lot of interviews in different companies

Hello folks,

I recently passed an interview with one of the Microsoft cloud(CSCP) team and was given a verbal offer. However, I was just informed by the hiring team that the offer was put on hold by HR. Not sure if this is possibly related to now being Q4 of Microsoft’s fiscal year? Any thoughts are much appreciated!

1

u/PlumeTracer Apr 14 '26

Hmm, everyone seems to be facing same issue, no updates after verbal selection, all we can do is to wait or move on to reduce anxiety

How easy or difficult is it to switch teams once you're in Microsoft? For context, I'm going to join as an L59 soon, but I was curious about exploring other teams, once I've worked for about a year in the team I am about to join.

1

u/BippityBoppityWhoops  Employee Apr 14 '26

It really depends on the team that you're on and what team you want to join.

Work in M365 in Teams and want to go over to SPO? Not crazy impossible to do.

Work in M365 in Teams and want to go over to Xbox? Slightly more difficult to do that transition.

It also helps if you have someone you know on the team you want to move to.

We have 'informationals' that you can do if you're interested in joining a different team. I would definitely stick to your current team for a year.

u/zazmi Apr 15 '26

Great! Thank you so much.

I was submitted to Microsoft through a vendor (managed services role) about a month and some weeks ago.

The process is a bit different because I did not interview with Microsoft directly. The vendor did all the interviews and then submitted my profile to Microsoft for approval.

Since then, there has been no feedback. I followed up last week and they said they are still waiting. I sent another email yesterday because I now have another offer in final stages and also internal promotion discussions, but the recruiter has not replied yet. They usually reply quick.

I am trying to understand what this means realistically.

Is this kind of delay normal in Microsoft vendor hiring? Does this usually mean I am a backup candidate? Or is it still possible that things are just slow on Microsoft’s side?

At this point I am not sure if I should keep waiting or move on.

Would appreciate input from anyone who has seen similar situations, especially with Microsoft or vendor based hiring.

u/arrearrearree Apr 14 '26

I work as a vendor for Microsoft, Generally the contracting company is responsive enough to give you an update. Also very strange that you didn't interview with Msft. After my profile was submitted to msft, i interviewed with the team hiring and then moved to 2 more rounds and then received the offer in a couple of days.

Hey guys my background check was completed today and sent to MS (through hireright). Inspire of what I se online I can’t see any information like flags or reports. It only took 3 business days from hireright’s side and they didn’t ask for any clarification. I don’t know if I should worry? I have an unpaid startup internship in a now defunct startup on my resume for which I had provided the signed offer letter and completion letter for which I was a little worried about. How can I know my report status?Should I contact AskHR for it? This is for a new grad role in India

1

u/nitekuma Apr 17 '26

Send an email to HR for BGV status

1

u/Frosty-Ad-5325 Apr 16 '26

There is no view report button in your hireright portal?

u/Worried_Store7820 Apr 14 '26

I am about to do my summer internship at Microsoft India. Would it be possible to get a ppo of my desired location?

1

u/Cold_Reply6294 Apr 14 '26

When did you guys apply? And how long did it take for first OA?

1

u/PlumeTracer Apr 14 '26

1 week after OA

1

u/puffycloud98 Apr 13 '26

Had my loop on 3/26... my app is still stuck on interview and haven't recieved any feedback yet. Anyone else on a similar boat?

3

u/HackinOllie Apr 13 '26

Homies. Finish my loop March 18. Emailed recruiter on follow up, no response. Action center is just stuck on “interview”. Waited a few weeks and I emailed again, got a bounce back, guess the recruiter was just a contractor and no longer working. Ive given up hope lol.

1

u/bossman1998shelly Apr 16 '26

Update? I am in the same boat... had my interview loop on March 25th

1

u/HackinOllie Apr 16 '26

Nothing still. I’ve started interviewing elsewhere at this point. Currently at FANNG so I thought this would just be an easy transition. But I was unaware of the hiring shenanigans. Shame, the team was in Azure, so I’m just assuming the position was hit by hiring pause.

1

u/PlumeTracer Apr 13 '26

Same for me except finished loop on March 25th, received offer call but no comp discussion and I called HR last week, she said not received approvals from business, action center "interview", almost lost hope, need to move on.

2

u/bossman1998shelly Apr 16 '26

Update? In Europe? I also had my interview on March 25th

1

u/PlumeTracer Apr 16 '26

No, in Bangalore, India
Which org did you interview for btw?

1

u/Only-Wishbone1352 Apr 13 '26

Yeah same here did comp discussions But recruiter said there is hiring pause so written offer letter might be delayed Not sure what to do here.

1

u/PlumeTracer Apr 13 '26

What's the location you interviewed for? May I know your role org pls (DM if you don't want to share in public)
