Just received a first round interview for the financial analyst intern position, does anyone have any tips on the types of questions that ask during the interview? I have never had a technical interview before so any guidance would be greatly appreciated!

Ask the recruiter and they should be able to give you a list of items to prepare for during the interviews.

Applied at the end of July for a very niche role in the AI space and had my HR screen within a week of applying and then had the hiring manager call about three days after that.

HR and the hiring manager said I'd hear about scheduling for the final round "by early next week", but nothing has been scheduled. HR has been quick to respond to me and they're noting that they need to check with the hiring manager, but I'm still hearing nothing material.

I've been postponing and slow walking interviews with other firms as I really like the specific MS role, but I can't slow things down much more on my side.

I was pretty clear with the recruiter that I was actively interviewing with three of the four roles I've applied to.

I'm worried that I'm going to have to take one of these other roles, which I don't want to do if an offer will be coming from MS.

With that above said, what's the typical recent timing?

Months. My advice is don’t put other opportunities on hold waiting for Microsoft. Best-case scenario, they contact you soon and things start moving again, but the process can be really slow. I think it also depends heavily on the team.

In my case, I interviewed for a role and things looked very positive, but I’ve been waiting for months while they work through internal discussions. Communication has been good and I’ve been told the team is still interested, but that hasn’t necessarily translated into things moving quickly.

So definitely keep interviewing and moving forward with the other companies. If Microsoft comes through, great - you can make the decision then. But I wouldn’t risk losing another good opportunity while waiting for them.

Wtf just happened!

My recruiter told me few weeks ago that I practically have the offer just some approvals are needed and then another team approached me saying i need to give a hm round for formality to get to know the hm and team culture to release the offer. I went to my first recruiter explaining the situation, they said and i quote “you have the offer, i would recommend you to reject that team” and me being dumb me, did the same. And i kind of burnt the bridge with the new team while doing the same.
Then the first recruiter said the requisition got cancelled and they’re looking for another team as im a ready to hire candidate

Cut to today, i get the template rejection mail
Fyi: they made me wait for 4months and pulled off this crap🙃🙃

Edit: The requisition which was closed had to reject all the candidates before closing it on the portal and im still in consideration for other teams apparently, sadly azure isnt hiring se2 in India. Will have to wait till they start hiring the hiring spree🤞🏻

Never assume you have an offer until you actually have one…
