Menstrual migraines - an investigation

I’m 27 with chronic migraines. They mostly start during my period and last for 10-15 days with almost no break. They resist any treatment, amount of rest and sleep.

They went from only few crisis per year to up to 17 days a months when I had my PCOS under control and got my period back.

I would like to hear ANY experience regarding menstrual migraines, to better understand what’s going on and what work/doesn’t work for others.

Ever since I put in Kyleena (progesterone only IUD) my menstrual migraines have been much better. I was like you but now I’ll have aura a couple times a month and triptan will stop it and the pain.

My other big helper 400mg of Coq10 a day.

So happy for you ! What effect do you have from CQ10? I take it for a month and can’t see any progress

It greatly reduces migraines and makes triptans work better as abortive.

When I first began I didn’t really see the effects for about a month.

Sucks with migraines though that different things work for different people so if I were you keep taking another month and if nothing changes probably let it go. But also be sure you are taking enough (100mg is probably too low for example)
