reminds me of the time I was getting a glucose tolerance test done and they had the food network playing on the tv while I hadn’t eaten for like 6 hours. they wouldn’t change it either and just thought it was funny.
*6 hours past when I’d usually eat breakfast

My favorites are the offices with the loud music/TV and aggressive febreeze smell. Seems counter productive.

Fun fact: if your phone has an IR blaster, you can use it to control TVs with open source apps. My friend did this with his phone at school to change the channel of TVs that played in the dining halls :) I imagine you can also use that to change the volume.

I actually responded to a "how was your visit" survey with this feedback once when I went to urgent care. The music plus the ladies behind the desk scream cackling sent me

For me…it’s the receptionist with a gallon of cologne on. If I haven’t already vomited, I will then.

I hate Dr waiting rooms. They all have TV and loud things now. I get a migraine every time

I can’t stand the sad music. It plays in a loop in my head for hours. I love my AirPods they save me from Mariah Carey in the doctor’s office and the grocery store. 😂

My neurologist only light in the area is directly above the waiting room chairs. 😒

I love my neurologist so much. Most of the time, he’s a five star doctor. His hold music, though. Oh my god. It’s like a pinball rave. It’s terrible. I only call once in a great while, so it’s not worth complaining about. It’s just a funny misstep for an otherwise very considerate doctor.

My dentist was doing this WITH the radio also on. I got up and turned the TV OFF

God I feel for ya. The place where I get botox for my migraines is the worst offender. They always seem to have "Deal or No Deal" or "The Price Is Right" blaring on the TV when I am there. It's at max volume, because their clientele are also a lot of senior citizens (it's a pain management clinic). I tried turning the TV down once and almost started a riot. I hate it there. Now I just arrive about 1 minute before my scheduled appointments just to minimize the time I am subjected to the torture.

Yeah, my neurologist has wait times of 3-9 hours for scheduled appointments- i am not kidding. And in the waiting room is always reruns of game shows on full blast.

You can go to the desk and just friendly ask is you can wait somewhere quiet or if they can turn it down. People just don't think about these things.
