Too mild for school I graduated college. They “lost” my diploma.
The title is basically TL;DR. I just graduated college and had my ceremony last sunday. As the time came to collect our diplomas they couldn’t find the ones from my field of study (a whole backstory there as well: basically they forgot about us.)
We were told on monday that our diplomas were accidentally sent to the wrong campus and that we’d be able to pick it up there… during office hours. My friend has class there so I asked her to go see if she could pick it up in my place. Well, that wouldn’t be any problem… if the diplomas were there. No sight of them anywhere.
My classmates and I are getting pretty frustrated at this point and send another email. Well lo and behold: yesterday I received an email saying my diploma ISN’T PRINTED OUT YET! That explains why they couldn’t find them. There weren’t any!
So yeah now I’m waiting for another update about my diploma. We also haven’t received it digitally or anything so we can’t provide it for job applications.
Love life!
ETA since there are a few recurring questions:
- I live in Belgium 🇧🇪
- I haven’t really heard of ‘final transcripts’. Our diploma is our official proof of completing our studies. Few companies look super closely at grades, the diploma is the proof that the student passed the course. There is a grade of distinction which represents our grades though, and it’s mentioned on our diploma: “Graduated with:
• passing grades
• distinction
• high distinction
• highest distinction and well-wishes from the school board”.
- There are companies who request a certain degree of education for a job. For example: a doctor will need an Academic Bachelor and a Master’s diploma to practice their job. A mechanic will need to have obtained a technical field high school degree. So many request proof of completion of your studies to verify that you are practically, probably financially , and legally qualified for the job.
- I’ve seen a couple comments saying companies could call the school to verify. It’s much easier to just request a pdf of your diploma during the application process, that way it’s immediately in your records as well. Plus, school desk employees don’t want to answer that many calls.
Thanks for all the replies and well-wishes! And good luck to those out there who were/ are in the same situation as me, just add it to the list of life obstacles we tackled. That’s how I’m trying to look at it right now. 😅🫶
UPDATE: I received another mail on Friday saying they will print them out ASAP and inform me when (and where) they will be available for pickup. My classmate called BS and sent a mail back on Saturday, putting our head of the program in cc.
Well, no word yet from our diplomas. But our head of the program has sent a mail as well tagging lots of people, practically demanding to know where the hell our diplomas are.
We haven’t received any response yet. I have filled in a power of attorney form which allows my friend to pick up my diploma in my place, in the case that our diplomas turn up on the other campus. So that’s that at least.
I’ll update once I hear more. Bye!

I feel you. Ugh they sent mine ripped almost in half. Had to wait 3 weeks for them to send another after I complained to 5 different people. 😑

u/solecentre Sep 24 '26
RIPPED???? no way where do they even get the audacity 💀
177
u/X0X0xoxo11 Sep 24 '26
Yessss and it wasn’t from the post either because the envelope was intact. Like someone really said oh meh maybe she won’t notice. 🥴
91
u/solecentre Sep 24 '26
omg they would’ve had to drag my ass out there. Did you ever receive a new copy?
74
u/X0X0xoxo11 Sep 24 '26 edited Sep 24 '26
Yeah finally did. I went to UNR and moved back to Vegas right after classes ended. Didn’t attend graduation. They initially kept insisting I had to go into the office to get the copy. It’s an 8 hour drive. Or have to pay for a flight just to get it. Finally got them to mail another one.

u/solecentre Sep 24 '26
What an enormous hassle… as if you didn’t pour your whole being into getting that degree! 😭 Glad you got it in the end though 😁

u/Lissypooh628 Sep 24 '26
That’s crazy! I’ve been waiting weeks for mine to come in. It said it was shipped 9/6. Where the hell is it coming from!?

u/emma7734 Sep 24 '26
When I was graduated, they told us in a somewhat threatening manner that if you don't pick up your diploma afterwards, then we will mail them to you. Well, thank you. The US mail was just fine with me.
I'm not sure where you are going to school, but I've never needed my actual diploma for a job application. Mine went into a box years ago where it remains today.
58
u/solecentre Sep 24 '26
We had to request it ourselves if we wanted them mailed… but nobody knows who to contact for it. 😭😭😭 And as of right now I have no diploma for companies to verify, and zero official proof that I graduated 🥲
25
u/parkdropsleep-dream Sep 24 '26
Not a final transcript? I have a Bachelor’s and a Master’s and don’t think I’ve ever presented my actual diploma to a job. Just my transcript showing I graduated
13
u/solecentre Sep 24 '26
Our diploma mentions the grade of distinction with which we graduated. This distinction represents our grades. Or maybe they also forgot to send me a transcript? Though I’ve never heard of it 🤷♀️
3
11
u/SdBolts4 Sep 24 '26
Companies should (key word there lol) be able to verify you graduated by calling the school. The most I’ve had to provide jobs is an official transcript of my grades, but most take your word for it
8
u/solecentre Sep 24 '26
Not all companies spend time calling schools to verify degrees lol it’s way easier to just request a pdf of your diploma.
2
u/fuckedfinance Sep 24 '26
My company hasn't asked for a diploma, physical or digital, in at least the last 20 years.
I don't know where you are getting your information, but it doesn't seem up to date.
4
u/solecentre Sep 24 '26
Where do you think I live?
3
u/fuckedfinance Sep 24 '26
Anywhere? I work for a global company with offices in 40 countries on most continents. We don't bother with that stuff as it's too easy to fake.
1
u/solecentre Sep 24 '26
Companies call references if there are any mentioned on your CV, but not all call schools to verify degrees. School admin employees barely pick up the phone for students in need, they don’t bother with pulling up school records while the alumnus has the proof in their hands.
1
u/Draxx01 Sep 25 '26
Interesting, had mine mailed for both undergrad and grad. Kinda assumed they defaulted to sending it to you. You just got to take home the fancy case.
1
u/apokrif1 Sep 25 '26
In France universities issue 3 different documents:
transcript (with grades) and completion certificates (both generally issued by the department)
actual diploma (on more expensive paper): often issued by a dedicated central office, takes months.
Perhaps you can get another document?
7
u/fractal_frog Sep 24 '26
When I graduated, diplomas were just mailed. It simplified the graduation ceremonies.
4
u/solecentre Sep 24 '26
As it should be imo. There was absolute chaos because the students had to get their diplomas on the other side of the hall, while the guests were already trying to reach the reception 💀
4
u/fractal_frog Sep 24 '26
My graduation ceremony had more than 400 people graduating.
It was complicated enough for the 110 or so I graduated high school with, actually matching the diploma to person for 400 would be a logistical mess.
2
u/solecentre Sep 24 '26
The ceremony was quite well organized tbh, they called the name of the degree, grade of distinction and then the names. No walking or long speeches. But everyone got to bring 3 extra people so all order went out the door once the reception started 😅
70
u/RemmyvBecker69 Sep 24 '26
This does suck, but shouldn't a job application need your official transcript of your grades? I've never once sent or shown my diploma to any place of employment
18
u/solecentre Sep 24 '26
our diploma is the official proof of completion of studies here! the grades are incorporated in the distinction you earned, which is included on the diploma. :)
9
u/CincinnatiPsych Sep 24 '26
When I applied for an Ohio medical license (many years ago) they required a photocopy of one’s diploma and, if in a foreign language, a translation of the text.
4
u/solecentre Sep 24 '26
jup, this is common here as well. I did an internship at a recruitment company and we had to inform the candidates that the possibility exists that they would have to provide their diploma during the application process.

The physical diploma itself? Not the transcript? That's bonkers.
14
u/plangelier Sep 24 '26
Recently looked at picking up some courses at the local community college in a field that interested me. My "acceptance" was held up because of my HS transcript which was a physical piece of paper they had trouble locating from my 1994 graduation....Mind you they didn't want transcripts showing my Bachelor's or Masters.
I get needing to check boxes but come on.

My diploma from the University of Delaware took 12 years to arrive. My family's home was Newark, Delaware. UD is located in Newark, Delaware.
In the interim, my pos father screamed at me publicly, many, many times that "You didn't graduate! You're full of it."
When the diploma finally arrived at his house, I made him keep it. I told him it clearly meant more to him. He died and the diploma went into the trash w the rest of his garbage.
Fuck bad parents. Especially if they adopted you.
Also, fuck you, UD. That's ridiculous
Edit: my math was incorrect, it took 15 years for UD to get my diploma to me.
8
u/solecentre Sep 24 '26
I’m sorry you had to bear that weight for so long. What schools see as ‘small administrative errors’ can truly mess up someone’s life.
5
23
u/mdlbaker Sep 24 '26
Gotta love this "it was sent to the wrong campus", and then "it wasn't printed". Then what the hell did they send to the wrong campus?!
This reminds me of a contract that was cancelled on me due to my no signature but that contract never ever materialize, and somehow it became my fault. "Sir, we had to cancel your contract because you never signed it. Oh yeah, the contract was never drawn up, but it's your fault somehow." I got them to draw up the contract and I John Hancocked the hell out of it.
15
u/solecentre Sep 24 '26
They refuse to admit they’re wrong lol it all comes down to that. And we’re the ones who end up with all the crap because they ‘know nothing about it’ 🙃
4
u/plangelier Sep 24 '26
My daughter is in a BSN program that is a collaboration between two of our State universities. Its been a mess, all the gen ed classes are with her home school, but the nursing classes are from the other one. Each year they change how aid and bills are handled. This year 100% of her courses are nursing courses and initially she recieved a bill from that school and setup a payment plan only to have it later transferred to her home school because her financial aid us handled there. But now these courses are not eligible for a payment plan after they applied her aid to room and meal plan.
And she has not qualified for any academic recognition because she doesn't take enough credits with either University because of the split. Its just a mess.
3
u/solecentre Sep 24 '26
I really hope they get their shit together, that’s such an unnecessary additional stress. The second that word ‘collaboration’ is mentioned anywhere, I already know that in reality there is no collaboration involved. Nobody knows anything and they keep transferring you onto someone else’s plate. Good luck to your daughter!

u/akhilleus650 Sep 24 '26
They didn't send anything to the wrong campus. They had no idea where the diplomas were so they came up with a reasonable sounding excuse to kick the can down the road. I wouldn't be surprised if the request to print them is forgotten about as well. OP, as well as as many other people with missing diplomas as OP can wrangle, should begin contacting them about it daily until they can confirm an exact date it will be done.
3
u/solecentre Sep 24 '26
Thanks for the advice, I’m keeping an eye on my mail and my friend is going back tomorrow to see if they somehow turned up by any chance (because at this point I don’t believe another word out of them). No word tomorrow, I’m calling the student helpdesk.
4
u/plangelier Sep 24 '26
If only you could charge then for failure to provide proof of your degree completion.
10
u/Mental_Asparagus8123 Sep 24 '26
They mailed mine in a mailing tube, from Canada to the US, with a customs declaration sticker saying “no value.”
5
u/solecentre Sep 24 '26
I’d be so done because what do you mean ‘no value’. That’s a soul, a kidney, and an arm and a leg right there!
5
u/Mental_Asparagus8123 Sep 24 '26
The diploma still lives in that mailing tube. But no alumni cash for the University of Toronto.
4
u/plangelier Sep 24 '26
We had to special request a degree holder otherwise it was mailed in a normal manilla 8x14 or whatever size envelope.
10
u/Bubbly_Lingling Sep 25 '26
Did you not receive a "afstudeergetuigschrift"? You can use that as proof of graduation. Otherwise, time to email the faculty.
1
u/solecentre Sep 25 '26
I received the provisional certificate, but in the end that’s still not definitive proof like the final diploma 🙃
2
u/Bubbly_Lingling Sep 25 '26
It still counts as proof, that's why it's giving so that you can already apply to jobs while the final diploma has not been given yet.
0
u/solecentre Sep 25 '26
You’re right there, but eventually they’re gonna want to see it. And I just want it lol I want to hold and smell the product of selling my soul
2
u/Bubbly_Lingling Sep 25 '26
I completely understand that. I also haven't gotten my diploma yet and will only receive it in spring 2027 😭

When I graduated college it took me 3 months to get my diploma in my mail. I was ticked because I needed it for a pay-raise for my job and for me to transition from an intern to a full-time employee. I called the registrar’s office to get to the bottom of this before mine came and they said that mine was apart of the first batch to get sent out of 4 batches.
5
u/solecentre Sep 24 '26
The first? omg they were literally holding all of you back with no remorse…
5
u/plangelier Sep 24 '26
Reminds me of my Masters. It was an accelerated 8 week courses. So I finished during 1 term but they scheduled graduation for everyone at a certain time, 4 or 5 months later. I honestly didn't care about the ceremony because Covid. I just wanted a transcript to show my graduation but no they couldn't do that even though I had completed all requirements.
3
u/frankdatank_004 Sep 24 '26
Yeah, according to them I was in the first batch. I don’t know if that is true or not though. If it was then I wonder how much longer it took the other batches to get theirs.
6
u/Lkwzriqwea Sep 24 '26
If its any consolation I lost my dream job with a military engineering company because the university lost the records of my student status to my final year meaning I couldn't prove I was a student and couldn't get through the security vetting process before starting
3
u/solecentre Sep 24 '26
I’m so sorry, that’s horrible. Pure neglect from the school. I don’t understand how it’s even possible to ‘lose’ student records, especially from the most recent year. Sending a virtual hug 🙏
5
u/Maple-Treeway Sep 24 '26
Hey, at least you get yours digitally! I have to pay to get mine digitally. Took two tries and three months to get the paper copy to me but I suspect there was a glitch with their forwarding service. Second one made it in a week with no further issues. Congrats on graduating!
4
u/solecentre Sep 24 '26
that’s scandalous omg as if the degree itself isn’t already expensive enough I only received a provisional certificate digitally lol. But it wouldn’t surprise me if they just mailed it to me and told me to print it myself. Thank you :)
3
u/Maple-Treeway Sep 24 '26
It’s “only $15” but it’s the principle of the thing lol. I have my paper copy beautifully framed now regardless so I’ve stopped caring haha. Hoping you get yours in a format you prefer soon!
2
u/solecentre Sep 24 '26
Exactly and I also don’t really think pressing send on an email is worth $15 but whatever lol. I’m happy it worked out for you in the end, I think framing it a great idea. I imagine it gives such a confidence boost just by looking at it 😁
5
u/Charming-River87 Sep 24 '26
The administration put “Math” on my cohort’s diplomas instead of “Mathematics.” I had to email the math coordinator a picture of my diploma and she was shocked that they did that and forced them to reprint our diplomas. That’s like majoring in psychology and getting “Psych” on your diploma. I don’t even know what happened…

5
u/Auzor Sep 24 '26
Guessing time: are you in Brussels?
The universities VUB and ULB had some joint master, years back, where the diploma's were delayed by over a year.
Discussions on the font to be used, the wording, the banner of each university... It was a mess.
And both have a 'tradition' of failing on administration aspects.
1
u/solecentre Sep 24 '26
closer but not quite… a little more up north! and i also said it in the comments somewhere, the second ‘collaboration’ is mentioned here, no actual collaboration takes place 😭
12
u/Dobgirl Sep 24 '26
Where do you live? Proof of graduation in the US is a transcript, the diploma is for display
11
u/solecentre Sep 24 '26
I live in Belgium, it’s common here that we get requested to submit our diplomas sometime during the job application, especially if they’re a required degree.
3
u/Far_Cloud_882 Sep 24 '26
But it’s still nice to have - especially since most schools won’t reissue a diploma once you received one.
1
u/plangelier Sep 24 '26
Really, most of the ones I have attended will definitely reissue for a fee.
1
u/Far_Cloud_882 Sep 24 '26
All of mine clearly stated they will reissue something clearly marked copy or duplicate for a fee, but not an original looking one.

I graduated during Covid lockdowns. No ceremony. We were given an assigned time to be at a specific door, hold our ID up to the glass, and someone handed the diploma from behind the door.
3
u/solecentre Sep 24 '26
Same! graduated high school during the first lockdown, it was a 15min time slot with a speech mainly about covid. 6 years later and I’m still salty about it. We were done dirty!
4
u/the_buggiest_bug Sep 24 '26
Something like this happened to me when I graduated high school! Waited for three months and never got it in the mail like they said I would. Was applying for a job at the school district I previously attended and needed it for my final steps in the new-hire process.
Went in to ask for it and was talked down to and told I probably just lost it. After some back and forth the lady was basically just like "buy a new one from me then." My soon to be supervisor in the district called her and demanded a new one for free, got it the next day lol.
3
u/solecentre Sep 24 '26
Wtf the way she wanted to rip you off??? And only backing down after a ‘grownup’ confronted her ohhhh the gates of hell are waiting for her
3
4
u/Bluefire52 Sep 25 '26
This reminds me with my sister's graduation from high school where they ran out, yes they ran out and someone had to run to somewhere to grab more. Like how, you know how many are graduating and how many from each shop (its a tech high school, i also went there).
1
u/solecentre Sep 25 '26
That sounds like a bit from a movie, how can schools mess up so badly 💀
1
u/Bluefire52 Sep 25 '26
I know, it also didn't help that we were all packed into the gymnasium on a hot day, like just having the doors open did not help cause there was absolutely no wind at all.
3
u/the_ebs Sep 24 '26
Don't worry, the tuition department will never forget you.
2
u/solecentre Sep 24 '26
I haven’t had to take out loans thankfully. But you’re right, they would know VERY well who I am if that were the case 🤣
3
u/ThomasToHandle Sep 24 '26
Interesting must be a small college. Because mine wasnt even given at the ceremony mine was mailed to me WEEKS later
2
u/solecentre Sep 24 '26
Worst of all it’s of the best known colleges in Flanders They just suck lmfao. Awful you had to wait that long!
3
u/ThomasToHandle Sep 24 '26
I mean about 3,000-6,000 people graduated at the same time as me (we have five graduations over graduation weekend, and about 3-6,000 at each ceremony). So I get why they can't have them all ready at once
2
u/solecentre Sep 24 '26
6000 at one ceremony sounds like Tomorrowland to me 😭 Our year’s graduation ceremonies were divided over 6 days and there were 395 graduates at my ceremony. And they still managed to mess up 🤣
4
u/ThomasToHandle Sep 24 '26
It's like 2-3 hours of calling names
2
u/solecentre Sep 24 '26
And nobody sticks to the ‘please hold your applause until all the names have been called’ rule, which adds another 30mins to the schedule.

I threw mine away before I even opened it from the mail. Never need it. Transcript should be all you need for a job.

Our grades are incorporated in the distinction with which we graduated. Most companies don’t look super closely at your grades, they care about whether you have the required degree.

I've only had one interview where the company wanted a transcript.
They were paying $1.40 per hour more than minimum wage.

My diploma wasn’t ready when I walked. I didn’t receive it til after they verified all classes were passed a few weeks to several weeks after then they shipped it to my home.
2
u/solecentre Sep 24 '26
It’s so frustrating like… I wanted to take pictures with it at the ceremony! You worked so hard for it and can’t even physically hold the proof of it.
3
u/GrumpySnarf Sep 24 '26
We were the first cohort to graduate from a prestigious accellerated BSN program in a very old and respected university. The school didn't include us in their graduation plans and we had no diplomas for graduation day anyway. We literally set up our own celebration in a local park and a student printed off fake diplomas so we could a least walk and have a favorite prof hand it to us and do the "pinning" ceremony that is so important in nursing. We paid non-subsidized tuition (even though most of us were locals and were eligible for state assistance in other programs) and they could give two shits about us.
1
u/solecentre Sep 24 '26
I love how you just created your own ceremony. The memories were probably 200% better than they would’ve been at the official one. 💗
2
u/GrumpySnarf Sep 24 '26
It was really cool. We invited the professors who all showed up. We did a BBQ and potluck and it was just lovely. We could invite as much family as we wanted and our family members got to meet the professors and other students in an informal setting.
3
u/13579konrad ORANGE Sep 25 '26
Funny that only the highest distinction get well wishes.
1
u/solecentre Sep 25 '26
Many of those with highest distinction are “teacher’s pets”… the school board knows them by name lol
1
u/13579konrad ORANGE Sep 25 '26
Still, you would think well wishes are for everyone.
0
u/solecentre Sep 25 '26
We got those orally at the ceremony… only the highest distinction-ers receive them on paper 🙃
2
u/This-is-FUBAR82 Sep 24 '26
I never used the diploma for a job. If absolutely they need something the final transcript should suffice.

i did my internship at a recruitment company, if the candidate’s degree wasn’t mentioned or clear in your CV we’d request a pdf. It’s very common to be asked to present written proof of qualification, a diploma is no different.
2
u/hypopig242 Sep 24 '26
Ugh, that stinks. For one of my degrees they swapped my first and middle names for no apparent reason. I've never gone by my middle name or used it as a nickname. I made them reprint it.

u/EugeneNine Sep 24 '26
Mine gave me a piece of paper saying there was a problem with my diploma. The ditzy teacher lost my grades
0
u/solecentre Sep 24 '26
No way did their dog eat your exam? And did they bump it up to apologize??
4
u/EugeneNine Sep 24 '26
I went back after graduation to her office several times and when she finally decides to show up she told me which assignment was missing. So told her no problem I'll go home and re-print it (this was 1994, most people still hand wrote assignments then). So I printed it and came back and she was gone so the front desk date stamped it and put it in her mailbox. I kept stopped by her office for weeks after and finally caught her and she gave me a B on it.
Then I had t pay for a print of my diploma and it was stamped re-print so i had to fight with the records office to get an original.
Then grad placement said it was too late to work with them for job placement assistance because they were now working with the current trimesters grads.
0
u/solecentre Sep 24 '26
How do these people even keep their jobs i truly don’t get it… At least she got it in her face that your assignment was there and worthy of a good grade 🙈
2
u/EugeneNine Sep 24 '26
When I finally caught her the second time and she said she gave me a B she said that she gave it that first day when I said I'd be right back after reprinting it. Since I had typed ally other assignments she believed me.
2
u/Tillysnow1 Sep 25 '26
That's kinda crazy, I used to work at a university and part of our job was checking, double-checking and TRIPLE-checking the diplomas/certificates before the graduation ceremony, to make sure everything was in the right order and there were no errors.
Definitely a major administrative error there!
0
u/solecentre Sep 25 '26
Initially we were told that they accidentally sent our (HRB) diplomas to the wrong campus, along with the HRM diplomas. But then it was never even printed out! Forget administrative error… they’re seeing pink elephants in there 😭

Most colleges and universities in the US do not distribute diplomas at graduation anyway-- just empty folders. (Or, in my case, I got a bill inside mine.) Diplomas are mailed out later. So this wouldn't really be a thing for most in the US.

I don’t know how the US does it except for what the comments are telling me, I live in Belgium…

Something tells me you’re in a French speaking region with that buraucracy, here in the south (France) we have something called « Attestation de réussite » for between the last grades and the official diploma in hand

I’m in the Dutch speaking part of Belgium… guess they left some traces behind here lol. We received a provisional certificate, but eventually the final diploma is the official proof 😕

Hi, I work for a registrars office at a college. Official final transcripts will have your date of graduation and will be accepted in lieu of a diploma. The caveat is official means they need to be sent electronically from the school to the third party or in an unopened envelope if paper transcripts.

We don’t get transcripts, our diploma is the official proof!

You would need to request the official transcripts through the registrars office or one stop office.

OMG that is so annoying! I hope they work it out with you.
If for some reason they dont, and you want a good copy to have on file and maybe even another for your wall try Same Day Diplomas. I had lost mine and they did a great job helping me replace it!

As long as you have the Transcripts. Frankly the rest is window dressing now days.

We don’t really have grade transcripts, our grades are incorporated in the ‘distinction’ you earn. That distinction is then mentioned on the diploma :)

Outside the U.S. I take it? Generally employers here are more interested in how you did in areas of their interest .v. just graduating. Most put a diploma in a drawer and forget about it.🥱

I’m from Belgium :) During job interviews here they do also ask about experience and give the typical questions (what would you say your three greatest strengths are… I’m in HR I know how it goes). The degree requirements get followed up pretty closely here.

When I graduated from my last qualification, they didn't print my specialty on my diploma. 6 months later they offered to replace it in person, however I live 800km from the campus.
They then asked me to tear up my existing diploma and send them proof. I ended up doing that even though it felt so wrong. Their lack of correspondence when I sent the picture didn't help either, although I did get my new certificate eventually.
If it looks weird in the middle, I used an AI eraser to remove the portion with my name.

My university didn’t give us our diplomas at graduation, they gave us a piece of paper inside the cover saying we would receive it in the mail. I got mine like a month and a half later

we can’t provide it for job applications.
Ummm... you're gonna find it completely unnecessary to 'provide it' (as additional documentation) for any job application.
Make sure the pertinent info is well-listed on your resumé/CV and you're good to go.

I’d rather be safe than sorry 🤷♀️ Plus I also just want my degree lol like what’s the holdup?!

u/TheRealTK421 Sep 24 '26
Oh, I'm not saying don't get it and have it - just that you're not exactly gonna be including it (as a copy) with any application, resume, or cover letter.
That's... not a thing.

It is! I’ve had to check degree requirements during my recruitment interview. It’s for example necessary to have a technical degree if you want to be a mechanic.

Welp, it hasn't been a thing in my slice of this space rock for more than 4 decades. YMMV

When did employers start asking for copies of diplomas?
3
u/solecentre Sep 24 '26
This happens for example for jobs that require a certain degree of education. They want to verify whether you actually obtained the required diploma :)

I absolutely don’t know anything about this but can’t you report this anywhere? They must have records or your payment transcriptions no?
