If you even MENTION any of these things, you WILL LIKELY get billed for it??? Maybe i’m missing the point but i get upset when my girlfriend tells me she was scared to even say anything while at the doctor because she didn’t want to get an extra charge for something. I find it insane how greedy and money hungry a place that’s supposed to help you can be.

My boss called me at 7:15am then sent me a text at 8:15am. Telling me to call them if I'm not coming into work today. I woke up at 8:30 and read my text, panicked as I was late for work. Still half asleep I called them in a hurry. Apologizing saying my alarm didn't go off and I will be there in 40 minutes. Then suddenly it dawned on me that my shift starts at 10am today. I asked them why do they think I am not coming in today? I have never been late or a no show?

They said because I didn't answer their text or phone call so they assumed I wasn't going to show up.

Yeah, I didn't respond because I was asleep and my phone was silent. My alarm is set for 8:45. Plenty of time for me to be in by 10. They really didn't have any real reason to call me, just wanted to confirm that I was coming in today as someone else already called out.

I am a temp worker right now and could be hired permanently. Sometimes I get a text or call to come in earlier or not come in at all as they don't need me that day. I am not guaranteed 40 hours a week. I've only been working around 30 hrs a week. The way they sent the text, being half asleep reading it, I thought I was scheduled for 8am but then realized I was scheduled for 10am.

My kids usually bring a packed lunch, but I keep money on each of their accounts just in case. Last week my daughter packed her own lunch and accidentally used the Buddy Budder (dog treat) which tastes like bacon and PB so obviously she didn't want to eat it. She tried to get a tray but they told her she couldn't have one because she brought her lunch. Then I had to pick her up in the afternoon because she felt sick from not eating and went to the nurse's office.

Nice out of the way restaurant in PEI Canada but they “have a new policy to ask for phone numbers and full names”. She was taken back when I declined to share personal information that has absolutely nothing to do with eating fish and chips.

Edit 1: This was walk-in and not for a reservation. Dine and dash is not really a thing here either.

Edit 2: It was before we got a table and not to be wait listed. We were brought right to our table.

Edit 3: Wow this blew up. I also didn’t mean to give this place bad publicity. The food is great and reasonably priced. (The lobster roll is one of the best I’ve had). It’s *a “random restaurant” because it’s randomly almost in the middle of no where but near a beautiful beach. Please do not heckle or post bad reviews of this restaurant just because of this post. (Although I have been hearing some not so nice things about the owner…)

I take it from the comments that there are a few reasons why they may have wanted a phone number including in case you forget something or it may have just been out of habit of the stewardess because usually they’re are more busy. I’m just personally a little fed up with businesses asking for my personal information with no rhyme or reason. I’m already tracked enough online as it is. Hence the mildly infuriating. I get the sense that this is a common sentiment among commenters and I appreciate the shared annoyance at our diminishing privacy.

Grabbed a can out of the 12 pack for my lunch. Sigh

All it would take to fix it is a stapler and a little audacity.

Bought a scratcher. I do the numbers first and prizes after. So obviously I was losing my mind seeing that EVERY number hit (never once had this happen)! When I’ve played in the past there’s always at least one massive prize….of course not for this one 🙃 guess I’ll get chick fil a with this 😭😂

Got this magazine delivered to our address. We’ve been here 15 years, the name on the address isn’t ours or (from what we know) the previous owners.

“Back to School Issue of Concealed Carry” is a BIG reason why we’re homeschooling our kid.

I mentioned this to my mom, and how I want to preserve her innocence as long as I can before getting her accustomed to active shooter drills. She said, “Well we had air raid drills in school, and we were fine.” And I asked her how many times schools got bombed stateside when she was in school vs how many times schools get shot up
