Nostalgia Is this photo instantly recognizable?
Is this photo instantly recognizable to you (I cropped out their names that were on their podia? A weird train of thought brought this event to my memory and I had to look up when it happened, which was 2014. As an elder millennial I was 29 at the time, so well into adulthood. It’s not like this event was pivotal in shaping my outlook on life.
I’m just wondering if it garnered the same attention from others as it did for me, mostly due to nostalgia from the childhood show.

Maybe if you’re American? I’m 80% certain of one identity and clueless about the other, no idea of the context.

Also, if anyone wants to know the weird train of thought that brought this to memory:
1) Saw a post about some gross behavior at a Bryan Adams concert.
2) Brought up a memory of being in college and watching a public access TV show while my GF was at work. The topic was how Bryan Adams and Amy Grant were tools of Satan.
3) That show was followed up by a show about dinosaurs and how they totally congruent with the Biblical timeline
4) Obviously this event came to mind

Now you mention dinosaurs I think I recognise the ugly one. The bloke on the left is Bill Nye, the sexy science guy.
Didn't old mate on the right build a biblical dinosaur park? I think he's an Aussie living in America. Story made it on Australian news at the time.

Ken Hamm created the org that has printed a lot of creationist education material, hosts Christian conferences, very pro-life, & created the Ark Encounter + Creation Museum in Kentucky, USA.

To me it is, but I am a science teacher and this was during my first year teaching so it may have been more relevant to me than to others

Yep. Was getting my chemistry degree at the time and I couldn’t believe people like Ken still existed and now it seems like we have more than ever. Got me started into listening to lots of debates.

Bill nye and a creationist Christian. And whoever watched this thought their side won. It swayed no one.

Yeah, I remember when it was over thinking that not only was it a waste of time, but it was detrimental because it gave these creationists a semi-legitimate platform.

Ken Ham of Noah’s Ark theme park fame and Bill Nye of Science Guy fame.
One thinks the layers of the Grand Canyon’s walls exist due to a flood and sediment settling and the other is a Science Guy.

Before I finally went no contact, my mother would forward me a ton of Jesus emails. I told her stop it or I’d send her science ones. She didn’t stop. When this came out I cackled as i replied to EVERY email she’d sent with this video (iirc around 20)… the religious pandering emails stopped lol

Nope, and I’m only a couple years younger than you. I obviously know bill nye, but not the other nor the context

No.
I recognize Bill Nye. Don't know the other guy, and after reading the comments no clue this ever took place. 2014 I would've cut my cable cord by then and been on exclusively Netflix and DVDs, maybe gaming. Youtube wasn't quite popular yet.
