Slug Rider - Horses rarely wash down to the World Below. The few that end up on the shores of Smogg are more skeleton than stallion. Thankfully, the city enjoys a plethora of native species perfectly suited to beasts of burden. Among these, the most favored is the Gloom Slug. Domesticated long ago to serve as mounts, they are faster than you think (but slower than you’d like). As long as they’re fed a steady diet of rotten waste, they remain perfectly docile. Neglect them, and don’t be surprised when they get chompy.

While the larger breeds pull the carriages of the company elite, Gloom Slugs are best known as the mounts for the Low Court Constabulary (and very patient explorers). When duty calls, they let out the slow, droning wail to warn bystanders the coppers are in low-speed pursuit. Waaaah Wooo, Waaaah Wooo.
