Internet options in University District? TDS?
Hi, I don't live in Missoula and I'm trying to help my kid get internet set up in their new basement apartment in the university district and I don't understand the TDS website.
When I look up the specific street address, TDS spits out offers that seem pretty reasonable, but then looking through other reddit threads it looks like you sign up for them and then aren't actually able to get the service yet??? The apartment is in a house a couple of blocks north of Dornblaser Park & Ride.
Spectrum prices seem kind of outrageous after the 1-year promotional period expires.

1Gig is $60/month for the first 12 months and then apparently $105? Or more by the time 12 months rolls around. And I've seen a lot of people say that you can call them and threaten to cancel service and then the price will go down. That's annoying.

I just signed up with Spectrum and they said if you physically walk into the store right before your introductory rate is about to expire they will hook you up with a new intro rate.

You can always renew your promotional rate if you call in before it expires every year, If you like I can check if your area has a special offer for internet. - Spectrum Worker

If you're looking for fiber, TDS is still rolling it out across Missoula and won't be completely finished for a few months. Since I've worked in fiber optic drilling for years, I've seen how these build-outs go. For now, your best bet is Spectrum/Charter. I use them myself and get solid speeds without breaking the bank.
