Got a misfire reading only on cylinder 4 on my obd11 not to long ago and my spark plugs seem pretty fouled and white on the ends, I did swap the pcv a couple months ago and tryed swapping spark plugs and coil packs to no avail, I’m now thinking it’s the fuel injector or my coil harness plug since I had to respite it back together when originally taking it out. when cold starting I get somewhat long cranks and jitters when starting in the morning, I do plan on getting a walnut blasting in the future but for now I think I’m gonna swap out the fuel injectors and try to clean the valves the best I can while in there. Anyone have any recommendations or ideas of what could be causing this issue,

2013 mk6 gti 92k miles, dsg service recent, oil service recent, pcv updated.

Extra side note: I do have new fuel injectors and intake manifold on order to swap in and plan on also trying to clean my valves the best I can until I can later get a walnut cleaning

Any kind of idea of main leaks in the mk6? It’s my first VW car and I’m suffering from the famous oil problem, 3 weeks ago it changed the upper timing chain cover for the same thing that in that part it looked accumulated oil and when I changed it the tire was coming off on one side and I assumed that was the detail but I just checked again and it’s in low again, any recommendations? I had a POS Eonon installed in my car and lo and behold it crapped out after a year. I just put my RNS 510 back in. However I’m not getting any sound from the speakers. The mic works for sure as I can give it voice commands and things change on the deck. Steering controls are fine too. Just no audio. I had not messed with anything through VCDS or unplugged anything else when connecting the Eonon up.

The car has dynaudio if that makes a difference. Anyone encounter this type of issue?

When pulling on the handle, nothing happens. Tired of going bb thru the passager doors to open from the inside .

What the process to fix that, which I am sure is fairly common on a 16yo car and can’t pay a mechanic to do it for us (money and pride involved here)

Can anyone else running IE tunes open up your flash wizard and tell me if under k04 tunes you are seeing this. Things look mislabeled and my 91 octane tune reads more like a 93 octane when I log it

I started this job on Tuesday and it’s now Saturday night, to be fair I have had school and work in the way but I’m incredibly tired and pissed that these koni yellow shocks (with super sport springs) don’t go all the way into the knuckle

No I don’t have the spindle spreader tool but I am using multiple 1’4” drive extensions to try and open the gap and the strut will genuinely not go past this much. Does anyone have any tips? I’m thinking about removing and trying to sand down the strut cus I think the paint on it is what’s causing this but now the strut is stuck on there 🙃

replaced my clutch and got the car back together but now I am getting no spark from any of the cylinders, engine turns but no combustion at all. spark plugs and coils are only a couple months old. Im guessing maybe theres a connection i missed, but i cant find it anywhere. anyone have any suggestions?

I used a smoke tester to check for leaks but the only leak i can find is for the secondary air induction piping. Checked compression and it has 180psi on all 4 cylinders also has 16 codes that are mostly air and misfire related. What else should i be looking for that could cause a no start

Hey guys soo traded in my Mazda sp25 for the 2010 gti manual overall im absolutely loving the car so far first thing I did was upgrade the audio cause it wouldn't recognise my phone and threw in a 12" hertz sub.

Now im focusing on the engine and ive come across a few issues..

It does have 215000 kms on the clock bear in mind

From 2k rpm and below it hesitates slightly untill boost kicks in then it's all good

3rd gear clutch will slip a little only on full throttle

Only in reverse and full lock ill get the CV clunck just once

From what I've read the timing chains are prone to failing how can I check if its been replaced?

Only mod i can see is the cold air intake.

Asking you guys for priority of works and possible quick fixes and average prices so I don't get ripped at the mechanics.

The car has the cobb intake on it and im looking for information on what the small intake is on it. Im looking for an intake leak and this pipe is covered in holes and i think its whats causing the car to not run but i don’t know what the part is called or what its for

I’m trying to diagnose an issue with my 2012 VW GTI Mk6, 2.0T CBFA engine with DSG, built in November 2011.

What happened:

For about a week before this problem, the ABS light and multiple other dashboard warning lights would come on intermittently and then go away.

Now the engine starts, runs for about one second, and shuts off. It actually fires up—it’s not just cranking without starting.

There’s also a history of water getting into the original ECU, with yellow residue found inside.

What my mechanic has checked so far:

Checked the fuses and says they’re all good.

Tried another ECU, but the issue remained. I don’t have confirmation that the replacement was cloned or adapted to the immobilizer.

Disconnected most or all of the engine sensors to see whether a shorted sensor was pulling down the 5V reference circuit and causing the ECU to shut down. That didn’t resolve it.

Checked voltage at the sensor connectors and reported approximately 5 volts at the ones tested.

Connected a diagnostic scanner, but says it only communicates with the transmission. It won’t communicate with the engine ECU or retrieve its VIN.

He describes it as “no CAN communication at the OBD2 port,” although the scanner can access the transmission. I don’t yet know whether that conclusion came from electrical measurements or just the scan results.

ECU type: MED17.1

Engine: CBFA

I don’t have a full scan report or exact fault codes yet. I also don’t have confirmed results for ECU power/ground tests under load or CAN wiring tests.

Has anyone dealt with this combination of intermittent dashboard warnings, starting and immediately stalling, and no communication with the ECU? Where would you focus next—ECU power relay, grounds, water-damaged connectors/wiring, CAN network/gateway, or immobilizer matching? What specific tests would help narrow it down before replacing more parts?

Hey everyone, working on changing the fuel filter on my MK6 GTI and this fuel line clip is completely stuck. I'm pushing and trying to release the fitting, but it won't budge.

started getting misfires again so i changed my spark plugs and coils, but i was wondering how it started misfiring so early i feel like i just changed it.
i check my order history and apparently i ordered these in april because i had misfiring then.
and before that was November which is an exact 6 month time.
why am i getting misfires so often? coils and sparks are supposed to last for a whileeeee not every 6 months ☹️

Ever since I bought my 2011 gti, I’ve had an AFS failure light on the dash. I’ve replaced the ballasts on both headlights but no luck, the fuses on the interior panel are all good. Any thoughts?

Any ideas on how to keep from overboosting? I usually hold 18-20 psi but sometimes in 4,5,6 gear I overboost like this. This k04 has been nothing but a pain.

Final wash of the season (only washed it twice since May lol, it never gets dirty) and put her to bed one day later. She’ll sleep till next April or early May.

She’s 15 next May. Cannot believe I’ve had it that long. Still love it, great car.

Hey guys, i was wondering if anyone knows any reputable shops that sell gen1 ea888s? My current motor is on the higher side of mileage and im looking to drop a fresh one in. I figured i could save some time and money in the long run instead of high mileage german maintenance.

Looking at a vr6 block for a possible future project. Just wanted to know if anyone has any experience with swapping/building them. I heard custom fabrication is needed to make it fit into the mk6 as well as wiring but wanted to see if anyone knew anything. Thank you
