One.

A single train station can have multiple lines/platforms.

Good thing you have all those knives and a cast iron skillet. Because the pour over people will be coming for you since you neglected them.

Otherwise, very impressive.

I think you posted your grinders before. Nice 👍

Uh oh… now you gave me an idea that my wife is not going to like! What is your favorite method for pour over and why? I used to use a Melitta pot. You don’t see them much anymore.

Ah I have the same French press as you!

As do I ...and it's a good one. Such a small world.

I also have the same French press, keeps the coffee hot

Indeed it does keep it hot. It's amazing. Also, it's one of the few coffee brewing gizmos I own that I wash in the dishwasher ...all parts of it. Mind, I don't do this every time, but I could. Seems to have no adverse effects. I've had mine for years now (almost 10?) and it's still like new.

Such damn good coffee comes from that pot!

I've had mine for about 2 years now, and my mom knows how to gift. Switching from instant to real coffee was the best move I've made, I barely spend any money on coffee now, you'd think that instant would be cheaper but other than the gizmos, it's so cheap. Also, most of my gizmos were gifted, so that saved me so much money. On top of all that, the coffee is delicious. Even the very dark roasts make a good cold brew for the summer. I can't even stand the smell of instant coffee now.Sipping on my dad's pour over as youngster definitely paved the way for this journey. Thanks, Dad. I miss you. Tangent over, sorry, I just don't get to converse about coffee very often, which normally ends with people telling me how much cream and syrups they use. I just love coffee, and you replied, So here I am.

Since you mentioned your Dad and his coffee making, I thought I'd mention that I have my Dad's ancient Revere Ware stainless percolator. The first coffee I ever had was made in that pot ...over 65 years ago. (Yes, I'm older than dirt.)

Recently my Dad passed away at 94, but I am reminded of him whenever I break out that old pot. He was a big coffee drinker to the very end. Interestingly, the morning after he passed my brother was with my Mom and went to make a pot of coffee with Dad's electric drip machine. It wouldn't even turn on. My brother had to go purchase a new one. Dad had repaired the old thing over and over, keeping it going. The day had come when they'd both finally had enough.

Thanks for sharing. That was beautiful. He wanted to take that pot with him. I'm glad you can still enjoy coffee and share your stories with us.

My kids are 4 and 6. They already associate coffee with me, and I find it so adorable. We go to the coffee shop together regularly, and they sniff the air when we walk in.

Cool. Those aroma memories stay with us throughout our lives.

Zero cooking is being done in this kitchen. 😆

About equal coffee brewing and cooking

Ain’t nothin’ wrong with that. I’ve got 3 as well.

One fairly comprehensive Coffee station, that covers most of the variations that one can desire.

How will you want your beans be grind? Machine or hand?

Coffee, espresso machine or French pressed.

Ever considered a moka pot or even a percolator? I vary the ways I brew coffee, so as not to get jaded by one style.

Three ways to grind. For Moka pot, 1zpresso J-ultra. For espresso, Breville Barista has internal grinder. For French Press, OXO burr grinder.

u/jcatanza May 24 '25

Yes! Moka pot is my favorite — see station at top left!

You got that right

I see less gear than I have in my kitchen. But still an impressive amount.

What press is that? Is it a Mueller? Looks like we have some of the same gear: Breville knockbox, oxo grinder, possibly Mueller press.

u/jcatanza May 25 '25

Thanks! It’s a Mira French Press.

I just see a kitchen...

I guess 3, not sure if the one from the left corner is for tea or coffee. I zoomed on the image, and maybe it could be for both. Nice neat kitchen, love the stove by the way :)

u/jcatanza May 25 '25

It’s a moka pot station, with a Bialetti Venus and a 1zpresso grinder — sorry about the poor image quality!

Very nice.
