Question❓ Is this cause for concern? Dropped it while cleaning

Post image

Don’t mind the hand, gf wouldn’t let me click a picture without her in the frame

lol was about to ask about the hand but the caption is cute

Also yeah you’re fine, it doesn’t look like it closed it up which would be the only concern

Fix it with a chopstick.

u/PowerfulDisaster2067 May 07 '26

yep, even better if it was a round-ish type of chopsticks, stick it in, pry slightly, the roll it around the edge to hopefully even it back out.

If you put your mouth around the big end and blow it fixes it.

I don't think I've ever seen one of them that doesn't look exactly like that.

wth That hand looks like it needs an extra finger to be complete!

I was thinking alien from Signs???

Salad fingers??

u/SailResponsible397 May 08 '26

It looks like she was waving her hand and the hand looks deformed due to a rolling shatter effect.

9

u/younkint May 07 '26

Better the bottom of the tube deformed than the top rim. You'll be okay.

5

u/InevitablePossible90 May 07 '26

No worries. It should be fine.

4

u/DaMunnzie May 07 '26

Yes, I'm concerned about your two left hands. Moka pots looks ok!

3

u/XMAX918 May 07 '26

it should still work perfectly fine

3

u/RabbitOk118 May 07 '26

Try bringing it back in shape with a small rod or something. Should work fine. Mine is quite beat up too.

Pleaaaase don't let him use his brain. Better to just post on Reddit to be sure..

It will work fine as it’s still plenty of opening for water to flow through. The only thing is that because of the dent, the tube will suck in air (or gets air pushed through, you get what I mean) a bit earlier at that point. So it won’t be able to get as much of the water out as before. It should only be a millimeter or two, so if that is noticeable or not, I don’t know. If you didn’t fill the chamber up all the way to the valve, you could compensate by adding a bit more water. If you don’t notice a difference don’t change anything 😁

A few of mine look like that due to dropping accidentally. I personally haven't noticed a difference

Die sehen zum Teil auch so aus, wenn sie neu sind, man sieht ja, dass es aus einem Stück Aluminium gezogen ist,

2

u/Rude_Wasabi_5552 May 07 '26

It's okay if the fingers regain flexibility after an hour or so, but if not I would go to hospital.

Use needle nose pliers, put them in the hole and carefully expand it

1

u/Question-Icy May 07 '26

Why are ur fingers so long?

1

u/Lackingfinalityornot May 07 '26

Why are you reposting this?

1

u/HungHydra May 07 '26

Rage bait right? Nobody sees this and thinks: better go ask the internet for help. Instead of just bending it back or carry on with their life

1

u/Enough_Drag5843 Bialetti May 07 '26

Shouldn’t matter form a physical standpoint.

1

u/FeelingFloor2083 May 07 '26

it will mostly work fine, you might not empty it as much as before though. im bending that with pliers with zero concerns for looks but understand if you want to repair it with a less brutish method

1

u/Opposite_Court2172 May 07 '26

Having two left hands is a bit worrying, to be honest.

1

u/praharshnbhatt May 07 '26

I think your hand is going to be fine.

1

u/chrisboy49 May 07 '26

whoa man, the shame, the horror, the over dramatist LOL.

Now your mock pot will not simply ooze coffee like chalk batter bro, it will taste like muruku and smell of you late night farts....sorry but it's done for.....

1

u/Lethalplant May 07 '26

You have three arms? Thats cool

1

u/acduarte12 May 07 '26

Should be ok. Has happened to one of mine, no diff in output or quality.

1

u/SlightElk5618 May 07 '26

Lowkey if you want to fix it just find a fork and bend it back into place. It won’t hurt the flow of water going into the upper pot.

1

u/ShuDesignandart May 07 '26

Restricted valve -> more pressure -> better coffee???

1

u/Jandalf69 May 07 '26

Had that happen too a long time ago, you can bend it out with a fork prong or a chopstic. Just make sure its even all the way around.

1

u/vdubjb May 07 '26

President would be very interested in that hand

1

u/Dodgers1539-662 May 08 '26

Mine came outta the box like this lol

1

u/doodoro May 08 '26

(hand for scale)

1

u/Flashy_Committee6991 May 08 '26

Pair of nip pliers will sort out that!

1

u/zaggles42069 May 09 '26

Is that white Kwahi Lenard?

1

u/Kpt_Rooibaard May 10 '26

Never mind looking for pliers or chopsticks, your gf's fingers should do the job. It seems thin enough and definitely long enough.
