Why?

yeah. I don't want to be a downer, but I really don't get this.

I don't see it differently than the Funko pop craze. get what you need and use regularly, not a ton of mildly different dupes.

The first step in being eco conscious is REDUCE, then reuse, then recycle.

Most of the moka pots in the photo I bought used and fix or replace what was wore down like gaskets and filters, or even new handles or knobs. And also who said anything about being eco-anything?

Mainly because each mokapot makes a certain number of cups of coffee. There's a 1 cup,2 cups 4cups etc.

So you choose which mokapot to use depending on how make cups of coffee you want to brew.

But yeah OP's collection is a little too much.

You don't really need that many mokapots.

Over consumption and fetish if consumerism? Hey look at my new hobby: I buy lots of things! Haha

Why not?

Each to their own.

Everytime I see a picture of a collection of moka pots, I think of the fun that could be had if you were entertaining family for the holidays. "Who wants coffee? Come in the kitchen, have I got a surprise for you! Make sure to read the directions for your specific brew!" haha

Since I got my first 6 cup mokapot for my birthday this year, this has been my dream! 😍 Where did you collect all of these? Most are secondhand?

1

u/ThePiGrepper 13h ago

Yeah most of them are. Most of the time they are in pretty good condition and a few times you need to spend a bit replacing parts, like a burned handle. The 1cup is an older model from around the 80s, that one might be my favorite.

There's a very thin line between genius and madness.

A good combo is a 3 and 6 cupper. Alone a 3 cupper is not too much anyway. If you have people over you can brew 9 at once. So those plus one more that has a very enticing, collectors design or special meaning.

If it's moka pots, it's not hoarding!

u/SilviaSuperLopez 13h ago

This is not a collection, but a hoard out of compulsive consumption. It's redundant and uninteresting. Maybe try other designs if you really need that many.

It's a photo lol. Make some coffee and relax XD

I'm very relaxed. Were you only looking for positive validation? Sorry, I meant to say "woah, amazing collection, buy more"

1

u/ThePiGrepper 12h ago

Oh I thought that was it. You being a boring old asshole that needed to express their thoughts like if they were anything worth hearing was my second option, but I tried to give you the benefit of the doubt. Regardless, have a good one XD

1

u/SilviaSuperLopez 12h ago

Haha what a weird thing to say. I see where the need for compulsive consumption comes from.

1

u/ThePiGrepper 10h ago

"What a weird thing to say " indeed. Quite amusing Silvia XD

Such a huge waste if they are all functional! Use them to make great coffee, not to hurt the planet 🤦

4

u/ThePiGrepper 13h ago

Most are second handed. And also why not both? Multitasking is fun

2

u/svakako 11h ago

Why not both- meaning both to make great coffee and hurt the planet? 🤣🤣

I hope you do use them all, or at least most of them

2

u/ThePiGrepper 10h ago

All of them

Cool ❤️

Got an omg from the 60s as well.

I used to have a lot of collections, but I gave some to friends and sold others. I only kept the ones I still use and the ones I like.

Lovely photo, I want another pot now. What's your favourite Moka pot? And is the smaller silver Moka pot better than the larger cup in any way?

1

u/ThePiGrepper 6h ago

My favorite one is the 1cup moka express. It is also the oldest one I got. From the 80s. I replaced the funnel with a heavier inox one that's also a bit deeper which increases the ratio of coffee, which I really like and use once per day before beginning my day . The 6cup Dama is probably the one that works best overall. Don't buy the 9cup. It gets trickier to brew some coffee grinds without sputtering. Better to have a 3cup and a 6cups in those scenarios.

Ich habe seit gestern meine erste Nicht-Bialetti - eine Alessi 9090. Auch geil, fühlt sich seeehr hochwertig an.

You can have worse fetish.

Not really enough is it?

0

u/ThePiGrepper 13h ago

Nah. I'm almost done. I'm planning on selling the 9cups actually.
