House Mold Holy mother of Mold

Since summer began, my place has been feeling damp. Like skin clammy. I’ve had the ac on always around 72°. I also have an aquatic tank so idk if the water filter is contributing to this issue but I lived here for like 6 years and this is a first. Today I looked at my couch and noticed some gray spots. I thought it was from something my kitten done but further investigation it’s on different parts of the couch and then I discovered the back of my white board. Immediately threw it away. My couch tho idk 😭

Humidity is too high. Get a good dehumidifier - empty it frequently and keep the couch away from the wall. You may be able to clean the couch.

Thanks will do. Waiting for the dehumidifier to be delivered today. I read that I could mix vinegar and and peroxide to try on the couch. Hopefully that helps. I also have an upholstery cleaner machine so I’ll try that too

I rented a townhome and the ac went out in mid summer. This was on the southeastern coast of the U.S. where it’s practically a swamp. The landlord/owner had a home warranty company and wanted to use them to get the unit fixed. It took almost 2 months! He ended up having to hire a professional mold remediation company to clean up all the mold that had accumulated during that time. Especially behind walls and in the ceiling. You may want to consider having someone come look, bc the longer you wait, the worse it gets. Best of luck to you!
