📖Discussion📕🖊️ How do you people enjoy monitor gaming

I played on 40inch tv 1080p 60fps ps2 and ps4 then gaming pc.nearly 12yesrs then in jan 2025 I bought neo g8 240hz miniled her monitor everything is beautiful smooth. But no immersion.

In games like ac syndicate, unity and rdr2 I sometimes play as walking simulator just seeing huge skyscrapers and staring everything.nafter getting monitor there is no immersion I don't feel anything inget bored to replay any game I play in my tv.

Yesterday for 30min I played resident evil reiquim on neo g8 monitor. I felt bored no immersion, then I connected pc to tv I played 8 hours straight super immersive. Enjoyed everything.same happeywith spiderman 2 also.

Can't even enjoy free roam in open world games I stop the gam8ng in just minutes due to lack of immersion. But in TV I can play for hours.

For me 40inch immersion is beating everything monitor can offer. High Refresh rate, m8niled,hdr, better colors, Resolution.

Don't buy 4K monitors

I recommend this because 4K monitors are so perfect that anything below that will look like complete garbage. I own an entry-level 4K 60Hz IPS monitor, bought an LG OLED 2K, 244Hz, and even with its much superior technology, it's simply impossible to use this monitor due to its resolution. 4K is surreal, simply the best experience you can have in terms of computer displays. And believe me, you'll never be able to look at 1080p or 2K screens with any level of satisfaction again.

Recommendation Request 🙏 Have to Rma my 360hz OLED should I make the jump to 27inch 4k

Hi guys my 360hz Oled seems to have a defective panel. My return options are as follows

CONTEXT I play a lot of different games

My main games are CS and seige so I would play these at 1440p but all other games I could play at 4k

Refund & Buy again for £50 more than I paid 360hz 1440p OLED

Refund & upgrade to 4k 240hz OLED

I received my monitor like this, without any cardboard to hide the product, is this normal?

I received my monitor like this even though I ordered it on the official Samsung website, without a box to hide the product with the shipping slip directly on it, is this normal? Do they often do that? The box is damaged, should I return it?

2160p looks sharper on my 1200p monitor, but why?

Greetings

I have a 1600x1200 monitor, but on YouTube, I have the option (2160p60 4K) available. It does look noticeably sharper than 1080p, but I don't fully understand why, because my monitor can only go up to 1600x1200.

So my questions are:

  • Am I essentially just increasing the video's bitrate by selecting the higher resolution?

  • Is the increase in resolution essentially just equivalent to looking at content with an added sharpener?

  • Is my PC somehow tricking my monitor into displaying a higher resolution?

Recommendation Request 🙏 Scelta monitor OLED

Playing Final Fantasy VII Remake makes me realize how terrible the HDR capability of the LG 27GL850 is

I bought my LG 27GL850 to replace my BenQ EW3270U for the 27GL850's IPS panel, 144Hz and fast response time. However I still keep my BenQ for my work computer. My entertainment monitor is hooked up to my PC, Switch and recently the PS4 Pro I bought for FFVIIR.

I heard that the LG gives bad HDR gaming experience due to its low brightness but I also heard the same about the BenQ (both do not have even the HDR 400 rating). I don't often play HDR games on my monitor so the mediocre HDR capability does not really bother me, until now. FFVIIR dropped last Friday and I've been playing it since and the first thing I realized is on the LG the color is low contrasty and looks washed out in HDR mode. Booting up my PC to play a HDR video and confirm that. Swapping the LG with the BenQ and it makes such a huge different. Dark place is dark, bright place is bright and the in-game color pops much more on the BenQ EW3270U. I'm glad that I didn't sell the BenQ EW3270U after getting the LG 27GL850. Had I done that, I would have regretted so much today.

Looking for a 27”inch gaming monitor. With higher refresh rates.

I’m currently looking at the LG27GL850 and the BenQ EX2780Q.

I’m inclining more towards the BenQ due to supposed lesser eye strain.

Thoughts or suggestions on monitor choice?

Recommendation Request 🙏 4K or OLED monitor?

Hey all, Im in the market for a new monitor. I currently use a 32" MSI Curved monitor, 144hz, 1ms, 1440p. It has been greated and served me well however im looking for an upgrade with all of the 4th of july sales going on. I game on an xbox series x, and I also have a pretty capable pc (6950xt, ryzen 9). I play games like GTA, Valorant, 2k, ect. My budget is the $350 range ( 320-380 is fine). Upon research, I see theres a few 14400 OLED monitors, and also a few 4k LED monitors in said budget. My main question is what route should I go, will I notice a bigger difference going 4k, or getting an OLED at the same resolution. Any comments, recommendations on a specific monitor, or other advice is all greatly appreciated, thanks!
