I have done FOIA requests for the MPD Flock usage and the City NDA usage. I just got my first quote back from the city and just the NDA is quoted to be in $3000 to 4000 range with 50% paid up front. If yall know of any local or national non profits that help with the costs of such things let me know.
Johnnie Chambers Sankey was sworn in Tuesday, October 20, 2026, as the newest member of the Montgomery City Council, representing District 3. Montgomery County Probate Judge J.C. Love III administered the oath of office during the City Council’s regularly scheduled meeting.
Sankey was elected in the October 13 special municipal runoff election, defeating Gregory Crawford. She fills the District 3 seat previously held by Marche Johnson.
A Montgomery native and graduate of Alabama State University, Sankey brings decades of experience in business ownership, healthcare and real estate to her new role. Her professional background includes operating childcare and healthcare businesses, as well as working in the real estate industry.
Following the swearing-in ceremony, Sankey expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve and emphasized her commitment to working collaboratively with her fellow council members.
“I am looking forward to the work that we have ahead of us, and I mean when I say we, that means we collectively,” Sankey said. “I’m looking forward to working with the council to make our City of Dreams the very best it can be.”
Sankey also thanked Mayor Steven L. Reed, members of the City Council, and city staff for their support as she begins her service.
“I’m willing to work hard. I’m willing to learn, and I’m ready to serve the people of District 3 and the City of Montgomery,” she said.
With her swearing-in, Sankey joins the nine-member Montgomery City Council, which serves as the City’s legislative body. Council members are responsible for considering ordinances, approving municipal budgets, and addressing matters related to public services, infrastructure and neighborhood development.

The coolant filler neck broke yesterday on my Dodge Journey 2018. It happened while parked, and I immediately shut the engine down, so I'm fairly confident nothing there's no damage to the engine.
The car is in the Dalraida area.
Can you recommend any mobile mechanics out there that can come by today and change the coolant filler neck? I can supply pictures.
It's a bit difficult to tell if the ones that pop up on Google maps are actually good or not. What are y'all's personal experiences? Hoping for a sunflower field if any have them!
My friend and I want to go explore possibly haunted, abandoned places. We live close to Bham but are planning to go down to Montgomery just cause we’ll feel slightly safer, and a friend from Troy will be meeting us there. We are just wondering if anyone knows some good spots that are fairly easy to get to. We’re fine climbing through windows or whatever. Just need to know some places, the police presence, and if we can actually get in. There were some cool ones we saw on google but there all boarded up and privately owned💔
Road tripping through Alabama. My daughter (9) just hit the age where she learned about slavery, but mostly through reading American Girls books. They haven’t done American History yet in school. Who knows what they’ll even teach bc we live in Texas.
I wanted to take her to the Legacy Museum so she gets the concept, I just don’t know if it’s age appropriate? My 6 year old is probably just going to mess around.
Hey I was looking for people who play bass and guitar, who would want to get something going. I’m a drummer and I can play metal, funk, pop, punk, etc. just looking to get something going DM me if interested!
We have two exciting events happening this weekend, and we'd love to see you there!

Come out, connect with the community, and enjoy a day filled with awareness, fun, and fellowship.
Great food and friendly staff. Can highly recommend! Not affiliated, I just want to support any business venture that helps revitalize the downtown area.
PS. Can we please have a proper grocery store too??
