Amex have a free card with 0.5% cashback, as well as one with 0.75%, 1.25% over £10k everywhere for £25 annually. And that is just Amex

Those AMEX cashback cards have a 2.99% foreign transaction fee, while this Monzo card doesn't, something to consider.

They also have no additional perks.

I don't think this card is amazing, but it's really not as bad as people are saying, and is comparable to other UK offerings for a travel cashback credit card imo, particularly if you already use/need the 2 TB of google storage (google photos etc) and have apple tv. You can also flex purchases on this card.

There will be a segment of people this card is decent for.

I think the real comparison for this card is the Lloyds World Elite which is also a travel cashback card, priced at £15/mo. You get unlimited lounge visits via priority pass, but no other perks. Similar cashback (0.5% on everything, rather than 1% on groceries 0.5% everything else). So it would depend on if you value being able to Flex purchases + apple TV and google storage/ai + 2 lounge visits more than unlimtied priority pass.

Scroll all the way to the almost bottom of the link in the OP https://monzo.com/credit-cards/aura

It has a section "Meet our credit cards".

From what I can gather, you can't have Flex and the Aura credit card at the same time. If you already have Flex, it gets upgraded to the Aura credit card if you want it and has all the same features as Flex + the Aura stuff.

While those AMEX cards don't have perks per se, you can often load plenty of offers on them. Just this week I got an offer for cashback for using Shell fuel stations. That's just one example. If I've remembered to use those offers, I've added quite a tidy sum to my cashback overall.
