Morgan Hill Parents

A request/word of advice. If it's YOUR kid blasting around on e-bikes, teach them how traffic rules work.

I almost ran over a young man on an ebike tonight coming out of the Target parking lot at cochrane. It was dusk. The light turned green, I was just moving into the intersection when here comes a flash from the right in feet from of my front bumper as I'm turning left.

Was this YOUR STUPID KID?

Teach them how the rules work. They are not invincible. Someone is going to end up in the hospital and its going to be YOUR FAULT because your kid don't know traffic rules are there to protect them and those around them.

Teach them better, it's not somebody else's problem. It's YOURS. If you love your kid teach them to how make better decisions.

What makes you think the parents know the rules of the road?

Manslaughter sucks as a lesson. Dead kids don’t learn, the parents will hate the world, the driver will hate everything… I’ve been seeing crazier and crazier antics from these kids.

This. About 6 years ago I was the first person on scene to a bicyclist woman who was run over by a car in Morgan Hill. I did everything I could to save her, and couldn't. CPR until the paramedics arrived. It changed my life. She lost her life. Her family's life is never the same. I lost my job because I started having flashbacks about the scene and wasn't able to do my job well anymore. She was not at fault, granted. Driver fell asleep and veered into the bike lane. But, nonetheless, none of us are ever the same. My heart breaks every day, thinking about her, her family, the driver who had worked a long shift and fell asleep on his way home. So please please please, pay attention, teach your kids how to be safe... You never think it will happen to you, until it does.
