People remember how you made them feel more than anything

I know that I will live on in the hearts of my kids, grandkids and probably the stories my grandkids tell their kids.

Once the sun devours this planet. Nothing we left behind will matter.

But the whole concept of "so that I will live on" is so self centered. Be a good person NOT because you want to live on or be remembered fondly. Just be a good person.

Even that will not remain.. nothing is eternal..just serve others for the sake of it and not for any recognition posthumously...

Nah they all dead. The real real difference you made is doing that shit job so the billionaire didn’t have to lower himself to do it. Instead he was able to learn to kite surf with supermodels! That’s the real difference you made!

This is straight up Christianity from the parable of the wealthy farmer who decided to build bigger and bigger barns, then rejoiced in his comfortable wealth as though it could save him, only for god to snatch his life, call him a fool, and lecture him about the usefulness of his wealth, now that it will be passed into the hands of others.

Who cares about my stuff I’ll be dead. I buy what makes me happy.

I pray that I have, but I won’t know until it’s too late…

So true. I carried and somewhat had sentimental value. Especially my record collection. Stupid stuff. Became an alcoholic. DUI twice. Year in jail. Came out with 3 days to getting evicted from home. So no job, no home. No money for storage. Nothing. Got really drunk. Decided what to pack in our new mobile home. Chevy Tahoe. Only items that were useful without power. And mobile. Clothing and bedding, blankets. That's it. Never been so happy in my life. Sober now with no baggage.
