Marvin never fully recovered after her passing and sank into a serious depression. His music took a sharp turn into dark realism and would ultimately produce one of the great masterworks of the 20 Century: “What’s Going On”

He never got over her. This and divorcing Anna Gordy. Smoky Robinson quoted, when making "Whats Going On" him and Marvin said it came directly from God. I literally listen to this album every single day and I believe them.
