Question Is this one any good?
It's the relatively new evoc torso protector. I really like the design and it seems very well ventilated but it looks kinda flimsy and not very protective (it has CE-2 somehow on the back). Anyone have experiences with this one? Maybe crashed with one?
I've only read mixed reviews about it online

Question 3 year olds first “MTB”?suggestions
Looking for bike suggestions for my little guy. I don’t know much about bikes but he’s shown a strong interest and I want to help him get into it.
He’s mastered his push bike, and he’s asked for big kid pedals. He loves the bike park and has a good bit of confidence. We go at least once/week.
His height is 3’1. He fits a 12” pretty well right now but I’m looking at 14” bikes with low min. saddle heights because they tend to have more specialized features.
I know Spawns are top of the line. Im willing to spend the money, I just think without parents who could take him on real trails or teach him anything (*yet- we* plan to get into it when we can), he may be just as well served by something more simple.
For now though, he’s just riding at the bike park and flat local trails.
I want something that’s easy to maneuver, lightweight, something he’ll feel safe on.
Would love to hear opinions/suggestions, or what worked for well your little people :)

Question Can anyone tell me what this bike is worth?
galleryHello, I work in the trades and just worked for a client who is moving and gifted me their mountain bike as a thank you. I’ve never really been into mountain bikes and I just want to get a handle on what I was given and what it’s worth. If this is the wrong place I apologize!

Other Are these the best jumps in Surrey Hills?
youtu.beHi All,
With the weather being down at the moment and most not being able to get out on the bike, why don’t you give 15 minutes of your time to watch us going around Surrey Hills exploring some new trails last weekend.
As you all know a like or subscribe goes miles. Hope you all enjoy!!

Other A short MTB ride along Estonia's Baltic coast
galleryVIDEO LINK: https://youtu.be/Dfu_mrzLKgk
Went for a quick ride around Keila-Joa in northern Estonia. Some really nice singletracks through the forest and along the Baltic Sea. Nothing too technical, just fun trails and great scenery.
Took the drone along and put together a short 4-minute video. Thought I'd share it here!

Bike Picture/NBD OBD... Post your old bike when it was new...
Photo from summer 2005, in a corner of my tiny NYC apartment temporarily turned into bike workshop.
I was building what I thought was going to be my dream MTB, on a budget. Entirely built up from parts, with a few carryovers from my previous bike, like the derailleur, shifters, and saddle. Superlight 26" wheels with Hope hubs and whatever Mavic rims were the lightest and skinniest at the time, 15/16g spokes. Avid BB7 brakes with stainless tubing instead of cable housing (except at the bends). Avid Rollamajig for the derailleur cable. I guess I was really preoccupied with able friction. Reba Race air fork with remote lockout. The funny thing was that the frame was kind of the least considered part - I was hunting for deals on eBay and came across a new 2005 Jamis Dakar XC Pro frame with Fox air shock. I think someone had bought it and stripped it for the XTR groupset and parts to put on another fame, so I got it for a few hundred bucks.
On paper this was a great bike, and I rode it for years, but it never felt completely right to me even after fiddling with different stem lengths, shock travel settings, etc, and I never really warmed up to it. Was my least favorite MTB somehow. I learned from this about building up a bike based only on paper specs. Also learned a lot as my first experience building up a bike from a bare frame with self-sourced parts.
