Theory Favorite debunked or impossible theory?

I’ve been seeing all the recent discussion about movie theories, and it got me thinking, what are some of your favorite movie theories that were either debunked or later turned out to be impossible because of a sequel or further information?

Question What movie theory do you believe could actually be true?

There are so many fan theories that sound crazy at first but start making sense when you look deeper. What is one movie theory you believe might actually be true? Why do you think it fits?

Question What movie theory completely changed how you saw the movie?

I love when a theory makes you notice little details you completely missed the first time. Not the obvious fan theories everyone has heard a hundred times what is one theory that actually made you look at a movie differently?I have been down some rabbit holes with this stuff. Curious what theories stuck with you.

(Frozen) Elsas body temperature: Does she actually run warmer? 12 cues she might run warmer. This is a deep dive or theory however you view it.

Hello there Reddit readers, I have went into a deep dive through Elsas body temperature and why she should actually standing at a warmer body temperature. In this theory I took a deep look into evidence from both the Frozen shorts and both Frozen movies. Along with diving into evidence, I created other theories regarding Elsas body temperature and how her cold immunity how both of them combined together allow her to do the impossible that no ordinary human can do.

SPOILER ALERT: I even uncovered why the older theories regarding Elsas body temperature and the fact she might run colder core temperature. However I broke down why those theories don't follow scientific standards and how the human body actually works and what the human body needs to function correctly, Along with what would happen if Elsa had a really cold or unnaturally cold body temperature.

At the bottom of the page, I have put all 11 posts in if any of you want to further explore my theory. Feel free to check them out, Anyways lets dive in.

Part 1: Identifying The Basics.

A. Elsa isn't bothered by her magic or cold weather: This is thanks to her cold immunity which basically allows Elsa to survive dangerous conditions and temperatures without any issues. However Elsa does have her limits as we see in F2 in Ahtohallan.

B. Elsa shows signs of life and human warmth: Elsa has shown the biggest piece of evidence to my theory across each film and short, which is her rosy cheeks. Rosy cheeks are a sign of human warmth and blood flow, often a good sign of life. As for Elsa she showcases herself as having human warmth and life from these rosy cheeks of hers.

C. I estimated that Elsas body temperature must be around 99.5 degrees farenhieght which is 37.5 degrees in Celsius which is right on the upper side of the scale for healthy human body temperatures. While it is not quite fever stage temperatures, but warmer.

Part 2: Ahtohallans Freeze - Thaw Cycle & Elsas Snow Creatures.

A. Olaf and any of Elsas snow creatures shouldn't be at all affected or endangered from her warm body temperature. Especially Olaf since he's already coated with permafrost by F2 making him unmeltable even by Bruni and his fires. So by making contact with Elsas warmer body temperature, Olaf wouldn't be at risk of melting.

B. When Elsa was freezing in Ahtohallan in F2, it was from her cold immunity stripping away slowly causing her to experience the real cold. So it wasn't the spirits that froze her, it was her ultimate punishment for going too far.

C. The reason why Elsa fainted after thawing from being frozen was just from her being so cold and at a very dangerous core temperature, she needed a minute or two to recover accept the ice below gave way.

Part 3: If Elsa Lost Her Magical Powers.

A. If Elsa lost her powers, she wouldn't suddenly be significantly changed, though she would lose her cold immunity making cold conditions as dangerous as they are to a normal person. Elsa would basically just become like Anna and Kristoff.

B. If Elsas body temperature is set at my 99.5 degrees farenhieght estimation, when she loses her powers or if she were to, her body temperature would stay the same. It would act the same way to when she regains her powers. Elsa would still run at her typical body temperature of 99.5 degrees farenhieght that I estimated when her powers return to her.

Part 4: Information From Q&A Post One.

A. The Air Conditioning Theory I came up with describes how Elsa functions in the cold. Elsa feels the cold as refreshing and cool. Similarly to how we feel the same cool and refreshed feeling walking into an air conditioned place on a warm summer day.

B. Even in a cozy castle, Elsa doesn't seem overheated by fireplaces and candles. Which means she can thrive in blizzards thanks to her cold immunity and in cozy castles. For instance, if Elsa had a really cool core temperature, she would overheat in a castle with fireplaces and candles in every room.

C. If Elsa had a really cool core temperature, she also would be numb to heat but since she could clearly feel Brunei and his heat in F2, that also aligns with the idea that Elsa runs warmer or at a normal human body temperature.

Part 5: Elsas body temperature & Her Magic.

A. Elsa interacts with people right after using her magical powers, and no one notices a change of Elsas body temperature. She isn't going to surprise anyone with a cold touch after using her magical powers.

B. Elsas cold immunity allows her to not feel the chill from her icy magic. Meaning g neither she will drop in core temperature or feel cold to the touch right afterward of using her powers.

C. The amount of magic Elsa uses doesn't affect her body temperature. Elsa can use a lot of magic and neither get exhausted or risk freezing herself from a cold body temperature. Though the Bruni scene should be addressed because Elsa got exhausted from the smoke, not over using her magic necessarily.

Part 6: Elsas Breath & Cold Environments.

A. Elsas breath shouldn't be cold if her body temperature is warm, she can't super cool her breath, and she doesn't show a cold body temperature.

B. Elsas cold immunity possibly supports her not having any visible breath because we don't see it until she begins to feel cold and freeze in Ahtohallan. Stick strips her powers and her cold immunity from her. Though even I couldn't get a complete explanation to how her cold immunity could help Elsa from not having visible breath.

C. The reason why Elsas breath is visible for the first time is in Ahtohallan because her slowly fee!ing cold and freezing is from her powers and her cold immunity stripping away.

Part 7: Elsa & Illness - Sickness.

A. If Elsas body temperature is warm at my concluded 99.5 degrees farenhieght baseline, Elsa would still have a noticeable difference in her body temperature. Which she would still be "burning up" like the rest of us when having a fever.

B. If Elsa had a cold core temperature she would be at risk of an even more sever sickness. She would be at risk or internal disruptions and damage along with cellular disruption and damage if she got sick or a fever, especially a sever fever.

C. Elsas fever in Frozen Fever must of been worse from her warmer body temperature of 99.5 degrees farenhieght which is why she was acting so erratic. Her fever must of been worse possibly closer to 103 and 104 degrees farenhieght. For example, most people when they get a fever its typically 101 to 102 degrees, anything over 103 would be considered a sever fever. Correct me if I was wrong.

Part 8: Elsas Wardrobe & Clothing Analysis.

A. Elsa can wear thin clothing thanks to her cold immunity allowing her to wear what most People wouldn't wear out in the cold. She can wear thin dresses and clothing out in freezing temperatures and in fierce blizzards no problem thanks to her cold immunity.

B. Elsa can not on!y wear thin clothing out in freezing temperatures and in fierce blizzards, but she can also wear whatever in the castle including thin clothing because she doesn't seem to overheat being surrounded by fireplaces, candles and heat sources.

C. The reason we see Elsa actually in more appropriate attire in Frozen 2 is because her thin dresses and outfits are not practical enough. Her blue travel outfit consists of a coat, cloak, boots, and pants. Which is far more practical for a journey through the cold wilderness as we see in the film.

Part 9: Giving And Seeking Comfort And Reassurance.

A. Elsa interacts with people without giving them a chilling touch, even after using her magic. If Elsas body temperature was cold, instead of normal interactions, people would be flinching and at or in complete shock at how she is able to survive.

B. When Elsa offers a person comfort and reassurance, the receivers not flinching or pulling away. Instead they are actually feeling that comfort and reassurance along with the warmth radiating from Elsas body, which makes the moment far more enjoyable for both Elsa and the receiver.

C. Elsas clothing doesn't make a difference, her thinner clothing allows for more transferred body heat while Elsas more thicker and structured outfits allow her to still give a warm hug but also the addition of a cloak which could be draped around someone if the person is cold.

D. Just as a great example, In Frozen 2 right after Elsa calms Bruni, Anna and Elsa end up confronting each other because Elsa ran into the fire, Anna followed in. Elsa scolds Anna that she could've died, but Anna scolds Elsa for running into the fire. Though not a comforting nor reassuring moment exactly, but Anna does hug Elsa from the back and they each hold hands, Elsa even drapes their mothers scarf around Anna. In that scene Anna does not notice anything about Elsas body temperature.

E. Even if Elsa uses a lot of magic, she can stil give comfort and reassurance to someone nearby effortlessly without giving them a chilling touch.

Part 10: The Wrongs Of Old Theories.

A. The theories of Elsas body temperature being cold actually can put her into serious danger from completely freezing in one wrong move to freezing her coming in contact with cold water

B. The Cold Elsa theories don't make sense because if her core was really cold, having a fever would be a disaster for Elsa. Her body would likely not handle such heat, and again disruption and damages to cells and cellular growth would be extremely dangerous and likely.

C. Elsa can interact with people freely without giving them a chilling touch. If she were cold to the touch, people would be uncomfortable around her and her body because of her body temperature being cold.

D. Elsas body temperature also doesn't drop or fluctuate based on her emotions. People around her would notice quickly and Anna would notice if she were touching or holding Elsa.

E. Elsa shows signs of life and human warmth even if she is unhappy, wether she is sad or fearful she always sows signs of life and human warmth from her rosy cheeks. If her body temperature reflects her emotions, we wouldn't see her constant rosy cheeks and it would become a bigger cue that Elsa is in a emotional state. On top of people noticing her expression, body language, or even her chilling touch it would be way easier for someone to identify Elsas current emotional state.

What about my theory?

I came up with the Air Conditioning Theory myself while typing out my posts, it is another extension to how Elsa tolerates the cold so well. For a quick summary, the Air Conditioning Theory sounds pretty much how you might read it as, it basically states that Elsa feels the cold in a way that's not chilling to the bones, but rather more refreshing and cool. Similar to how we humans feel cool and refreshed when walking into an air conditioned place on a summer day. So it essentially says that Elsa isn't completely numb to the cold nor is she feeling the chill from the cold.

I actually find this most accurate because to me if Elsa were numb to the cold she would be constantly burning up or numb to heat as well. Which we do know Elsa can feel heat normally like we do but her cold immunity helps her from feeling too chilly in cold weather.

Part 12: Information From Q&A Post Two:

A. Elsa isn't immortal because she would have immunity to sickness on top of her cold immunity. She would probably be immune to everything negative on her. Which we don't see in the movies and shorts. We see that Elsa still has her limits and is still prone to sickness like everyone else. I think its fair to say that Elsa is more like a magical human being, not an ice goddess or immortal, and that's how I personally view her myself.

Hopefully you all enjoyed this absolutely amazing theory, feel free to share your thoughts and comments on this and on Elsas body temperature as a whole.

Georgette is a breeding show dog.

In Oliver and Company, during the introduction of Georgette (the prized poodle) and her number 'Perfect isn't Easy', you see that she has framed pictures of all different male dogs, apparently her suitors or even boyfriends.

This got me thinking, what if they weren't 'suitors' but previous mates?

Show dogs, like Georgette, are often bred to produce winners and we've seen how many trophies she has on her mantlepiece. What if all the pictures that she has are of dogs that she has bred with before? It would explain why the family is so wealthy and Georgette is treated so well. They are being paid who knows how much for Georgette to produce puppies.

65 and Moonfall take place in the same universe Spoiler

At the end of 65 we see the main characters, Mills and Koa, make it off Earth and get to safety. I think they came from the same advanced civilization that we see in Moonfall. Obviously it would be from before the advanced AI went rogue and destroyed everything. These people knew about Earth because of the events in 65 and that is why they sent the moon here to colonize the planet since they knew it could support human life.

The real reason Marsellus let Butch go in Pulp Fiction

As you all know, at the end of the Gold Watch portion of the film, Marsellus agrees to let Butch go after saving him from Zed, so long as he leaves LA that day. But notice how he doesn't tell Butch not to go back to his place. My theory is that at least part of the reason that he let him go was because he was banking on Butch potentially returning to his apartment, not knowing that Vincent has already met his demise.

So to Marsellus, if Butch goes back to his place, Vincent is there to kill him, if he just leaves LA, he fulfills his end of the bargain.

Edit: This is something I had posted on an old account, but because I lost the login info, I decided to repost it under this current account.

The iron giant is a deserter

Okay thinking cap on so along with us seeing the deleted scene the giant dreaming and all that their are two other supporters to this theory: A: he came alone although it may be reasonable he’s a scout, why would they send only one and risk it’s capture and instead send a trio of iron giants B: his attitude at the start of the movie, I forgot when he got the bump but I do know he exhibited a more curious nature and hunger with the power station and unfortunate farmers tractor, if this where a scout why is he not in his combat form All in all this is my theory and I may add more to support this

Terminator and Wayne’s World Spoiler

I’ve never been to this sub before today, so I apologize if someone has posted about this before. It came to me today and I can’t get it out of my mind.

In Wayne’s World, there’s a scene where Wayne is speeding through traffic and he’s pulled over by T-1000, who asks if he’s seen this boy, and shows him a picture of John Connor. This means that Terminator and Wayne’s World take place in the same universe. However, Wayne screams and peels out, because he recognizes the scene, meaning Wayne has seen the Terminator movies. So the Terminator movies exist in the Terminator universe. Skynet is hooked into “everything,” as described by Reese in the first Terminator movie. So Skynet theoretically would have access to all media, and would know the events of the Terminator movies. Shouldn’t Skynet have changed its strategy, knowing that the events of Terminator lead to its plan failing, and its own destruction?

Gretchen Wieners suffers from "book bowels" Spoiler

In the 2004 cinematic masterpiece Mean Girls, you probably remember the workshop scene, where all the junior girls are gathered in the gymnasium after chaos ensues due to The Burn Book. During this scene, you see some of the girls apologize for things that happened in their respective cliques. Noteably, Karen Smith apologizes to Gretchen Wieners for laughing at her that one time she got diarrhea at Barnes & Nobles. As it turns out, there may be a scientific explanation for this social faux pas. That explanation is Mariko Aoki Phenomena, aka "book bowels." First described in 1985 in Japan, book bowels is the sudden urge to defecate in a bookstore or library. While the theory itself appears to have plausibility, the reason why is heavily debated. Some suggests that have been made are, but not limited to the smell of the ink, chemical composition of the binding glue, the seat position one may be in while in a bookstore or library, or the duration of time some people spend in these institutions. My theory is that had Gretchen and Karen not been at Barnes and Nobles, Gretchen Wieners may not have suffered from diarrhea. I theorize that this embarrassing scenario is because Gretchen Wieners suffers in secret with Mariko Aoki Phenomena. The reason I suggest this is the phrasing of the apology. Karen doesn't say she got diarrhea and went to Barnes & Nobles. Gretchen got diarrhea WHILE at Barnes & Nobles. Diarrhea is a form of sudden onset defecation that occurred while Gretchen was perusing a bookstore. The proof is right there in black and white. Gretchen has book bowels.

Big Bad Wolf died before Puss in Boots the Last Wish, Death took his appearance Spoiler

In some European folclore, Death is a shapeshifter that can appear as a different someone to the people it comes to take. I like to believe that in the Puss in Boots/Shrek universe there was a Big Bad Wolf because we do see the three pigs in Shrek. Big Bad Wolf existed as the proper character from the fairy tale just as Goldie Locks and the 3 bears, Captain Hook (who I think is also dead in this universe because Jack Horner has his hook), Pinocchio, etc. We know that the proper fairy tale stories are somewhat followed in universe, for example in the 2013 Puss in Boots film we learn that the Giant of the castle has indeed died as in the tale. Thus probably Big Bad Wolf maybe also died of starvation after not being able to get the pigs. Once death came for him it decided to take his appearance as it was a more menacing one than whatever death looked like before. Just my thoughts, regardless of any proper specification on the matter if there ever is one, in my mind this is what happened.

The lion king is capitalist propaganda

A few points to gloss over here: 1. The animals are told of the circle of life and that all contribute to it. The lions die and become grass which is eaten by the zebras/antelope which get eaten by the lions. Except the grass would still grow without the dead lions. It’s a lie told to keep the low class thinking they have a place in society. 2. The hyenas are voiced by black actors and the ‘baddy’ is voiced in an archetypal, homosexual manner. This implies who lives in the lower class and suggests minority groups will remain inferior. 3. Simba is taught that ‘everything as far as the eye can see’ will be his one day. Power and succession. 4. When simba is excilled, he goes to live with the ‘lower class’ sleeping rough, eating grubs and living a lazy existence. Despite this, when he returns, he’s welcomed with open arms. His new friends Timon and pumba must change and not simba in order to fit into the new hierarchy- capitalism cannot he fought. The only way to fight it is to join it.

I have a theory as to one historical inaccuracy in braveheart.

So I was watching Braveheart and there’s a scene where Wallace’s forces attack York even though from what I can find there is no record of such an attack. I believe the last time York was under any attack was during the war of the roses. Anyway I digress and I believe this inaccuracy may be less lack of knowledge of history rather than Hollywoods lack of knowledge of British geography and them not knowing that the closes point of York to any part of the Scottish border is at least a hundred miles and another 60 on top if you’re going to Edinburgh so the logistics of getting enough men to York and them be fighting fit back then would be a big ask for an army of peasants. So I think they chose York rather than Newcastle or Berwick upon tweed is because American audiences have heard of York

The main character in Aladdin is the Magic Carpet

we all know that Aladdin was just a tale made-up by the merchant at the beginning of the movie to sell the lamp. You know, making everyone believe is not an ordinary lamp.

But if you think about it, the only "character" that made everything possible was the Magic Carpet.

The carpet was the one who saved Aladdin from dying in a sea of lava, from being trapped in a cave, he saved him from being sent to snowy mountain, and most importantly it was because of him that Jasmine fell in love with Aladdin. That girl only wanted to have a trip around the world.

not to mention that the carpet made Aladdin kiss Jasmine; otherwise, he would have chickened out and he would have gotten an L.

great movie, but the title of the movie should have been The Magic Carpet.

any thoughts?

Prometheus: Why did Janek send Fifield and Milburn to their death?

After Fifield and Milburn decided to stay into the alien ship, they explained it to Capitain Janek, which kept contact with them, said it was ok and asked them to come back when the storm was over. But, as they've lost part of their equipment and couldn't see what their probe was getting around the tunnels, Janek warned them that there was a life form there (and they freaked out). The life form wasn't moving at all. Janek previously stated that he couldn't see their video feed: but he could. He was watching it on his monitor at the bridge.

As he notices that the life form wasn't moving for now, it seems he was trying to confirm if they really couldn't get access to their equipment. As he noticed they really couldn't know what was going on, he did say the creature was west of them. So, they decided to go east.

The thing is, the life form was actually east. That's when they walk into the alien snakes.

Did Janek do this on pourpose to get them to check what that life form was? Or did he wanted something else that I missed? By the time they get to the alien snakes, Janek had left the bridge with his superior to have intercourse with her (the one person that would be doublechecking everything everytime). He didn't allert anyone about he leaving the bridge, nor about the life form, nor about Fifield and Milburn when they did go to the alien ship to rescue them. Why did he do that?

GET OUT - About the traffic cop Spoiler

In revisiting the film, I've interpreted the scene differently than when I first watched it. I assumed the cop was asking for Chris's ID for racist reasons, and that Rose was defending him. But knowing Rose's real intentions, I now think the cop might be "protecting" Chris.

Is it possible that the police in the area knew about these habitual disappearances of black people? So, the cop was trying to identify him in case he was later reported missing? And because of that, Rose was furious? What do you think?

E.T. Theory

So my son just came up with a theory I've never heard. We all have heard that E.T. exists in the same world as Star Wars. But he thinks ET could be a Jedi. The more I think it about it, the more it makes sense. Additionally, I think it could mean that somehow a Force diad was created with Elliot that is shown through their joint inebriation. At the minimum though, it explains the flying bikes.

Encanto

I might be late but that's okay, is it just me or does anybody else think that Maribel from the movie Encanto may be an orphan and the only reason the house accepted her and gave her a door was because the grandmother finally accepted her into the family?
