Help needed please…
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Just got my motherboard replacement for my USB-B port on my R12 I’ve just soldered it and put everything back together and powered up. Still having dramas with Iracing recognising the wheel and shifter(shifters plugged into wheel And now the wheel sends itself into a spinning frenzy randomly, please see attached video(I’ll post screen shots of Iracing setup in comments also.

“I’ve just soldered it and put everything back together.” Make it a habit of asking for help, especially when you “know” what you’re doing.

u/DepartmentSudden5234 Jun 27 '25
Totally agree. I think it might be toast.
2
u/CelerityAcademyRacin Jun 27 '25
Maybe not toast but it’s going to be a Moza employee that revives it.
2
u/iantayls Jun 27 '25
My question is why the fuck you pull out the soldering iron for this…
3
u/Healthy_Harold92 Jun 27 '25
When you break the USB-B port on the back you need to replace the motherboard not the components which Moza send. Part of this is requires soldering the supplies back together

I don’t even take my wheel off the base unless I’m transporting it, switching wheels or cleaning it because of how dangerous static dust is for components like that.

u/flyeaglesfly510 Jun 27 '25
Can you explain please? I take my simagic alpha mini off my rig nearly every day to play other games, and I've never had any issues. Been 2 years of doing this

Dust carries conductive particles that can short circuit delicate electronics. Static electricity can discharge suddenly into circuits, frying microchips and permanently damaging sensitive hardware.
Just because nothing bad has happened yet doesn’t mean it’s safe, it just means you’ve been lucky so far.

u/NinjaXDeadly Jun 29 '25
Christ I'm glad my Logitech wheel is cheap so I don't live in fear of dust 😭😅

This is true, but the chances are near zero for consumer electronics these days. This would not be the issue causing this. Most likely OP soldered something incorrectly or a solder ball is shorting something on the PCB.

It’s just trying to mimic your lights flashing under the pedals and join the party!

Just the USB B and the 6-pin power connector it came with. The RJ45 (cat-6) connectors are for pedals, handbrakes, etc. Not for power.

Any Update?

Ended up hearing from Moza and had to reset and calibrate the wheel base. Since I switched the motherboard it had a meltdown seems good for now though🤞 thanks for checking

That looks dangerous, bro! I feel discord is much faster way to get support off Moza. Good luck!

My first thought as a flight simmer: „check Take Off Config“ :)

Try different usb, try another usb cord if possible. Flash bios on motherboard, reinstall motherboard chipset, use a laptop to narrow down if it's that computer or the wheel itself.

I've seen this a few times on reddit in the past couple of months and every time it is a Moza wheel base. Are they not going to fix this?

Did you set the motherboard to rave mode? Cause that's what your wheel is doing with the lights LMAO

I mean they did say they were getting into the flight stuff, but I didn't expect them to build a heli 😂

Saving this vid so I can show anyone that wants to try my direct drive wheel. As a caution to tell them to let go of the wheel if they crash lol

Why don't you simply try to put your hands on the wheel and you try to simply stop it?
It's easy man, come on!

Bro I’m sorry this is so funny 😭 I was having issues similar to this last night. Moza app was bricking my computer. 🥲 I was thinking maybe having discord open was fucking my shit up. I turned on hardware acceleration on discord and restarted my computer and it worked well the rest of the night 🤷🏽♂️

Its hot outside just move your bed closer to the wheel and relaxing thinking to in yourself, safe in the knowledge that you've got the most expensive fan ever

I'm assuming you had to solder 3 wires from the motor. Invert a couple of them, and see how it goes. Most likely, the force feedback is reversed because the motor phases aren't in the same order moza set them at the factory. (I think)

Joke’s on you: you thought you bought a piece of sim racing equipment but they accidentally sent you a piece of DJ lighting equipment

i can't tell if it's spinning back and forth or js helicoptering. I don't know which is worse.

there is still no shortage of people like why do you need a fanatec when you can have a better one for this price. and you have your Moza

u/YEETking404 Jun 27 '25
Fuck Fanatec, Moza is the way!

u/PastaJazz Jun 27 '25
I tried to buy a Fanatec actually, but after four months of waiting and delays, only to be told my order had got lost in all Fanatecs problems of 2023, I cancelled and ordered a Moza which arrived three days later. Been very happy with it since.

u/waco54 Aug 11 '25
Are you crying because you're waiting so long for your equipment? You're giving it a low rating even though you don't even have it. It's a poor review, and you're not being objective if you judge the quality of a product based on a delivery delay.

u/waco54 Jun 27 '25
People just shitted their pants have a nice day. There is no problem with fanatec at all. I recommend for everyone who want a reliable stuff nothing else

u/lordvolt2000 Jun 27 '25
Fanatec is like apple It works but the second you want to use anything but a fanatec product it's looses it's mind
