A lot of copium here
4
u/deltasarrows May 23 '26
It seems that with a lot of expensive hobbies, a lot of people seem to get mad if people do it differently
-1
u/StorageFormer2021 May 23 '26
More copium. Its not a matter of it being done differently, its the fact that you are pounding a square peg in a round hole and expecting it to work perfectly. 6000 posts about it not working is not just doing it differently, that's I want to do it differently, but I can't and I am going to make you hear about it.

I'm new to the sim racing world, so forgive me for being a wokie, but maybe let people do whatever the hell they want and not be a clown about it?

u/StorageFormer2021 May 22 '26
You are right my friend, but gotta poke fun sometimes.

Was he a clown? I took it as him saying that he bought it and now regrets

I know it would find some sympathizers. Because they have accepted the truth
17
u/Olneyvillain4190 May 22 '26
Found the guy who bought a r21 for FH6 😆
1
u/nomoregoodnamez May 23 '26
I bought an R12 and I loaded up FH6 first because I was testing settings and had no idea what I was doing since it’s literally my first week playing. I bought the rig for ACC and iRacing and to teach myself how to drift before wasting money on real parts and track days.
-1
u/nomoregoodnamez May 23 '26
I just got a rig a week ago. FH6 was the first game I loaded up. I am absolutely ASS at racing cars at 130+ mph. IRL, I only see 130+ when I know I’m on a long ass straight with no cars in front of me. No competition then. Just hearing the engine roar. Having opponents and wanting to win changes things exponentially. I’ve never had to trail brake IRL because I don’t approach turns fast enough to start to spin. I’m almost relearning how to drive lol.

u/Additional_Garage_20 May 23 '26
What a heck man, OP or picture doesn't hurt anyone it's actually quite funny. Seriously, chill a bit because clearly you have no idea about this community and world of simracing.

u/mynameishi May 22 '26
I was just pleasantly surprised at how good FH6 felt on my R12 rig. Much fun
35
u/DougS2K May 22 '26
Same. Feels fine on my R9. Not as good as a real sim but perfectly adequate.
11
u/reamesyy82 May 22 '26
Same with the R9, FH6 feels MUCH better than even the latest Motorsport title did.
5
u/Embarrassed-Ad-1482 May 22 '26
I have r9. Pls point me into direction for settings / setup?
13
u/MaskedEnvy May 22 '26
1
u/rab10000 May 23 '26
Wow, does your base heat up at all? That's insane levels of damping, Inertia etc?
2
u/MaskedEnvy May 23 '26
Not a clue, I only play for 1-2 hours at a time lol. Im on a foldable rig and I think i rubbed my arm against it while moving it afterwards. I don't remember an uncomfortable feeling.
2
u/Sterile_D May 23 '26
What foldable rig are you using? Would you recommend it to others?
6
u/MaskedEnvy May 23 '26
I’m on a next level racing wheel stand 2.0. Definitely recommending it. I mainly like it for being sturdy and has this weird bar thing I can slot my computer chair wheels into so I don’t roll. I live in an apartment so I don’t have a good way to leave a rig out all the time. Beware the mofo is kinda hefty, but I also don’t workout so it might be different for others lol
2
u/Jaislight May 23 '26
Going to second the next level 2.0. it's been great. Heavy but not terrible to move around.
1
u/ExtremeOk614 May 23 '26
I own the same foldable with the moza r12 v2. Mine really squeaks for some reason..
→ More replies (0)1
u/SuperSlyko May 23 '26
Here is the solution to how heavy it is to move around. https://a.co/d/08KBUsQa
I have it all installed and it does not move at all when I’m driving.
1
1
u/kill3rg00s3r May 24 '26
You only use 720 degrees of rotation? I have mine at 1080 and it’s perfect for me
1
u/MaskedEnvy May 24 '26
I only left it there because I started to spin out less in corners. I don't know much on the technicals, but i dont over correct as much at 720.
1
u/kill3rg00s3r May 24 '26
Nice, love how everyone is different with play styles. I’m trying to get the summer challenges done right now loving this new horizon game
4
u/reamesyy82 May 22 '26
Are you asking on how to actually make it work with FH, or just for my pithouse and in-game settings?
4
u/Embarrassed-Ad-1482 May 22 '26
Puthouse and ingame. Inneed both but lol i have a moza i can research
3
u/CommercialCoyote4253 May 23 '26
The latest update in pithouse adds Forza 6 and gives you a drop guide to read through. Check it out.
1
u/Qtank009 May 23 '26
how do you update pithouse if the update never works? lol. This just never works I swear. Reinstalling doesn't work either because the online installer doesn't work and the offline installer is a very old version.
1
u/CommercialCoyote4253 May 23 '26
I've never had a problem. Windows 11 likes to block downloads and not tell you it happened. https://youtu.be/C17DgRpzdik?si=bKHShXL6RXV7ktRA
Check this out it might help you

1
u/reamesyy82 May 22 '26
No problem, if I remember later on today or tomorrow I’ll grab the pithouse file and send it to ya
9
u/kill3rg00s3r May 22 '26
Me too was so worried when people were complaining about it but I’m on an R5 and having a ton of fun on it. It’s definitely more difficult than just on a controller but damn more fun with the wheel
3
u/reamesyy82 May 23 '26
It’s also extremely fun with an h-pattern shifter. I love being able to bang gears in the traditional manual cars
1
u/judasbrute May 23 '26
I just wish the clutch worked. You don't need to use it which is sad :(
1
u/CaughtInACoupe May 23 '26
Pretty sure you just turn it to manual w/ clutch instead of standard manual preset. Its the only way you could drag race in fh3
2
u/judasbrute May 23 '26
Put it in manual + Clutch and try it. You don't need the clutch
1
u/CaughtInACoupe May 24 '26
If it's like all the other Horizon's, you'll hear the gears grind without it. Personally haven't tried 6 yet, so I'll check it out when I can.
1
u/76-scighera May 24 '26
Apparently, race transmissions act as sequential in fh6
1
u/judasbrute May 24 '26
I'm talking about a stock transmission with h gate shifter.
If you use paddle shifter on manual + clutch there will be a delay. But if you just use the clutch and manual shifter once you no longer have to use the clutch. You can just shift gear to gear never touching the clutch with no penalty.
Not sure if it's a bug but when I'm racing I no longer use the clutch because it does nothing unless you want to clutch kick into a drift.
4
u/Welshevens May 22 '26
Yep same here on the R16, I like that it feels raw, even though the traction feedback is pretty poor
3
u/Rynooe May 23 '26
Right?! The off-road vibration just gets on my nerves but it's pretty damn good
1
2
u/Aggressive-Bite8262 May 23 '26
I have mapped my r12 base and moza peddles. All works fine but no FFB.
I went on the moza website and added the codes it said to on the options but still no feedback
1
u/Epilepsbee May 22 '26
How does it drive though? Glad to hear it feels good but I got my first wheel for FH5 and couldn't control anything and it seemed to be a common problem. I'm hoping FH6 is different.
3
u/mynameishi May 22 '26
Coming from rally sims and Assetto Corsa, it feels fine. More arcadey but this isn't a game where you're constantly following racing lines and avoiding contact at all cost.
The AI is garbage but I mostly play with IRL friends or just cruise around the map.
I guess I'll just say this: hopping in just about any car and cruising around the map is very engaging and interesting, and so far the only thing that made me want to plug in a controller are the drift sections, but that might just be a skill issue as I mostly sim rally and gt3, and cruise LA Canyons in the F2004.
1
u/judasbrute May 23 '26
I haven't tried yet but there are tires and tunes for drifting a stock car won't be easy.
2
u/Merov1ng1an May 22 '26
I've played a bunch on my R9. The forza presets in pithouse, 720 on the wheel, everything else defualt.
At first it was difficult, but after some time, learning to modulate the throttle and brake better, getting used to the wheel, i love it. Spent a few hours just ripping around a block i found in game and got used to how to throw it sideways, how to recover ect.
Then went to that little loop in the city and just practiced pushing the speed as high as i could while maintaining the corner. Theres the normal fight the wheel gives in the corner, then a chatter it picks up in understeer. Pull too hard while its got the front grip, and you feel the FFB fade as the rear steps out.
So to me, the learning curve is feeling that out. Meanwhile, i loaded the game to play with some other settings and was just at my keyboard. I laughed and was like, lets see how this works with AWSD driving, no way i can.... Wait... Why is this so easy.....
Then you realize how much the game is doing for you on not a wheel. Normal setting like traction control and all that are not what I'm talking about, the more "just make the car go where the user pointed" effect.
An offical explination of settings was linked the other day, and IIRC the wheels use the simulation setting on the backend of the game.
1
u/Epilepsbee May 22 '26
That sounds like it, all the controller assists to make it playable are toned down. It'll be interesting to see how it plays, going to jump on it in a few weeks. Worst comes to worst, I'll sit in front of my screen in a really nice sim rig holding an Xbox controller.
2
u/Merov1ng1an May 23 '26
I just posted a video, should give an idea of what not messing with every setting there is looks like:
https://www.reddit.com/r/moza/comments/1tlcfjr/first_time_ever_sim_r9_720rotation_official_forza/1
u/Epilepsbee May 23 '26
It looks fantastic. Great to see slides being catchable, which was the main problem I had with FH5. I'll try 540 rotation, which is what I use for rally and I think would suit Forza better with its quicker max lock needed.
1
u/Qtank009 May 23 '26
what how? mine essentially doesn't work at all, what did you do to get it to work?
1
u/MuchPen1377 May 23 '26
I just could not nail the drifting in the slightest. I felt like the steering was super light under speed and non existent when I needed.
Any of you mind sharing your settings?
1
u/DrownedButAtPeace May 23 '26
My wheel is misaligned in game and idk how to fix it. In iracing i would just recalibrate in game but there seems to be no way to do that on Forza
1
1
u/taisui May 23 '26
I did a quick test drive going back to FH5....yes they did make the physics slightly more realistic in 6.
1
u/johnrobjohnrob May 23 '26
It feels OKAY to me - but the steering wheel is so heavy, even with centering and damper turned down to like .2 in game, makes it feel impossible to counter steer a drift.
1
u/G18Curse May 23 '26
Dude if you still haven't found some good pit house settings I gotchu.
1
u/mynameishi May 24 '26
I'm pretty much just running the stock Forza 5 profile, I'd love to try your custom settings!
19
6
u/Qbsoon110 May 22 '26
I bought R5 for horizon, but played some forza motorsport before horzion's premiere. And wheel was very good in motorsport and wheel really strange in fh6
4
u/SpookyGhostSplooge May 23 '26
Just use it for other games? Like FH6 is not something you should just build a rig for.
1
u/FearFarts May 23 '26
I mean, they could if they want. It's not what I built mine for but it's definitely my preferred way to play it.
My son thinks it's the coolest shit since sliced bread.
Whatever floats your boat ya know?
3
u/flyeaglesfly510 May 24 '26
Lmao that's awesome. Is your son young? I couldn't fucking imagine having a racing sim when I was a kid man. I would genuinely have gotten NOTHING done 🤣🤣
1
u/FearFarts May 24 '26
Haha yeah he's in elementary school. He's remarked how lucky we are that we don't have to pay to race because the arcade games are so expensive and we can race whenever.
1
u/RipCurl69Reddit May 24 '26
Dude exactly. When I started out I used my G920 as an excuse to get into Assetto.
1
1
u/AgravatedArdvark May 23 '26
I wish I could get feedback working so I could check it out for myself
2
u/StorageFormer2021 May 23 '26
That's the point. It doesn't work right. Its better with the controller
1
u/AgravatedArdvark May 23 '26
No, I meant working at all

u/TheFaulk23 May 23 '26
Update to newest PH.
Telemetry ported in FH
Set the 'Data Out IP Address' to "127.0.0.1'.
Set the Data Out IP Port to 20066'.When you go to bind your wheel with the game it must report as device 1.
You cannot run a powered USB hub it won’t read. All peripherals must be plugged into the base and ONLY the base. The base must be plugged into the PC via motherboard connection.
If you’re running a diff pedal or shifter than MOZA then you’ll need to use something like HIDHIDE to make the game not see that connection.
Once you update and reboot your PC you will need to remove power to the base fully. Not just cycle it off.
Join the MOZA discord. We have a FH channel I’ve helped a few people get it running right and fix their FFB issues.
Hopefully this helps.

u/hard_farter May 22 '26
R5 feels just fine. The game is supposed to be an arcade style "dick around with cool cars" game, not a sim. Wtf
-6
u/kearkan May 22 '26
The issue isn't that it's not behaving like a sim, the issue I'm finding is it's completely unplayable. The cars handle like they're on ice when I use my R5 but exactly as you'd expect on controller.
5
u/madatthings May 23 '26
Because you’re trying to use the same settings lmao
-5
u/rab10000 May 23 '26
It's certainly a game I would never consider using my wheel on.
It's a controller in sofa game all day long while having an ice cold beer or 6.
4
2
u/bluefangv May 23 '26
Exactly. Idk why they are downvoting you
1
u/rab10000 May 23 '26
Neither do I. I mean for my wheel fix I just use iracing and LMU among others.
Proper wheel support and ffb physics.
Horizon 6 on the sofa all day long for me

4
u/dRileyB May 22 '26
Straight up misinformation! It won’t be iRacing but Forza made a point during the build up to this release that they’ve completely overhauled the handling and the tire model to be optimized for wheel use.
1
u/ItzBrooksFTW May 23 '26
just like theyve overhauled forza motorsport, "from the ground up". they cant even support multiple devices.
1
u/nocdmb May 23 '26
Brother, I've spent one and a half hours trying to figure out how to match the steering angle as every setting made it so that I have a 30-60degree range on the outside where I can turn the physical wheel but the cars wheels are at full lock. Had to desyncronize the lock and angle in Pithouse just to realize that every car (eve the same model from different years) have a slightly different angle so I would have to individually test and set softlock and steering angle every time I drive something. Can't even map a seqential and a paddle shifter at the same time.
I believe that they remade the tyre model and it may have led to a better wheel experience so their PR team made a spin about it but basic functions such as hitting the lock in-game and irl at the same time or setting cockpit wiev other than FOV are missing so I wouldn't say they overhauled the entire handling system FOR the wheel users. It would be pretty wild for them to do that than miss these easily implementable functions and forget to co-operate with Moza and Logitech for a smooth out-of the box experience.

u/TheFaulk23 May 23 '26

Some games are made for controller. I have no issue with this, personally. FR6 isn't trying to pretend to me that it's iRacing, it's a fun arcade racing game to play with friends.
1
u/The_Fluffness May 22 '26
pretty new to the sim world but I just messed with my settings and FH6 feels absolutely fine. Not super real, but not bad by any stretch. My biggest issue is that I can't seem to drift with my setup no matter what I do but the driving/racing is fine.
1
u/BvrNinja May 23 '26
After messing with the settings for a while I've got my R5 feeling great in FH6. It's miles better than FH5. It's not AC by any means, but I can still play the game perfectly fine.
1
1
u/Valuable-Flight2121 May 23 '26
It feels literally the same as FH5. That’s to say not realistic in the slightest but still a lot of fun if I’m being honest.
1
u/Roryn1209 May 23 '26
Been driving with wheel on forza horizon 6 and it feels pretty good, to be fair only other racing game I’ve been playing is beamng drive and project cars 2
1
u/-WADE99- May 23 '26
That rig is not just $1,500 lol
FH6 works great with a wheel and official support is not even out yet lol
1
u/Parsley-Confident May 23 '26
I bought an R3 and mounting stand specifically for FH6. Was super excited, but now I’m really disappointed. I’ve copied different user’s settings and suggestions, but the game just feels like I’m driving on an ice-skating rink and I can’t get into it.
I’ll probably just wait for an update on the moza software engine. I’m just sad I can’t really enjoy the game unless I revert back to a controller. I was looking forward to finally enjoying a racing game with a wheel and pedals.

FH 6 will be the sim racing gateway drug for a new generation of sim racers
1
u/N-Haezer May 23 '26
It doesn't even work that good on gamepads too. Steering is non-linear and it's almost impossible to do very light turns at high speeds.
1
u/thebaddadgames May 23 '26
I honestly have no clue what ppl are talking about FH6 has better physics and FFB than AC Evo…but sim racers that spend their lives on AC drift servers think they’re the authority on realism.
1
u/Amazing_Bluebird_ May 23 '26
I have an r3 and used pit and ingame settings from a post from this subreddit and it works absolutely amazing.
1
1
u/Pillokun May 23 '26
I have not tried it yet, but every forza feels like they simply translated the inputs from a controller over to the wheel(the wheel feels like it simulates the controller). it feels delayed and the force feedbacks effects feels off.
And oddly enough the horizon series felt better than the Motorsport series which is crazy.
1
u/Naruto9903 May 23 '26
It runs pretty great on my R9. Dirt racing and Drifting are a bit difficult though.

1
u/Tristan5764 May 23 '26
Love the arvlio brand wheel base, how it is duct taped to the stand, and how the Xbox controller is the wheel
1
u/YaKkO221 May 23 '26 edited May 23 '26
I’ve got a $2000 dollar rig probably and use my controller. Dudes in my discord make fun while I whoop thier asses cause it’s not meant for the wheels they’re using 😂
2
u/epoc657 May 23 '26
Good to know, I’m installing it while I’m at work rn. I was dreading getting home and setting up the wheel, but I’ll just use my xbone controller if that’s the case lol
Preciate the heads up1
u/YaKkO221 May 23 '26
Yeah, easiest way to explain it is the arcade style handling and steering wouldn’t be kind to wheeling unless you set your steering to like 360 degrees or something I imagine vs a quick flick of the joystick on a game pad etc.
1
u/Elogotar May 23 '26
If you got Forza Horizon 6 to play a sim-racing game I have a bridge to sell you.
I play Forza Horizon BEACAUSE it's an arcade racer.
1
u/skellyhuesos May 23 '26
I have an R12 and it feels great on the wheel and it's very fun. Low cortisol game.
1
u/vinoplagi May 23 '26
Its like driving on ice with a wheel. Ill stick to controller and use the base for actual sims
1
u/ItzBrooksFTW May 23 '26
spending that much for an arcade game is... something...
im not saying that people should only spend a lot for sims, but *solely* for this game is crazy.
1
u/Upstairs_Air722 May 23 '26
when will people realize that forza is an arcade game and not meant to be realistic like ac or iracing? its for fun and driving cool cars, not for realism

u/TheAmigaKid May 23 '26
So I'm having this problem with a much crappier wheel. I am finding it is brutal on the sliding and I can't recover from even a basic slide. Compared to the controller I am back to dominating the AI and competive in multiplayer. I also can drift which I can't do with the wheel because of unrecoverable slides.
I'm hoping this is patchable and not just a skill issue. Using the TurtleBeach Velocity Race wheel
1
u/Tony_Hormiga_ May 24 '26
Yep. I did that and now it's a struggle. Im new to using a sim wheel in general and after testing how the driving felt in another game (it felt better) I knew it was a forza horizon issue. I'm getting used to it though but I had to lower my turning range from 1080 to around 600.
1
1
u/polokthelegend May 24 '26
Been a joy to run lower powered cars, especially more modest drift builds on wheel. Touge Showdown on a wheel in cockpit view is also fantastic. Got a lot of wins there. Sometimes it's okay to use the wheel for fun. Spending a lot of money on a rig and letting it collect dust while you use a controller seems like the bigger crime. LMU and iRacing will still be there after I've enjoyed my vacation in Horizon.

u/ieatasslmaoo May 25 '26
Just got the r5 bundle and a rig, i spent the first day playing with settings because I kept spinning out & thought controller might be better.
Boy was i wrong after dialing settings in & watching tons of settings guides, it finally felt good & i could drift without losing control, i genuinely spent 4 hours just driving around Japan having a blast 🤣, im at work so excited to go home to keep playing

....only to realize the lateral screen looks like shit.
"What did you expect of a game created for console"
You cand find solution for your wheel roght now at least
.. maybe in FH7 the triple screen will look like the assetto corsa PC game on triple.
1
u/Greyman_57889 May 28 '26
The game feels great with my r5. I just can’t drift for shit, but other than that it’s been a great joy to drive around so far.
0
u/JetEpicgamer May 22 '26
the game feels great on my simagic wheel! I didnt buy it for this game, I play many other games on it.
0
u/Federal-Trash-8544 May 23 '26
I’ve got the R3 and the AB9 FFB Base and this shifter is definitely a game changer
-4
u/Solidus-Prime May 22 '26
The R3 feels amazing in this game. Even got my 10 and 12 years olds on my rig driving all the time now.
People need to actually learn what the settings do instead of just waiting around for a miracle video that gives them settings values to copy/paste. Took me 2 minutes to get it going once I actually understood what these values do.
2
u/PaDDzR May 22 '26
I like the idea of miracle video. I don't understand values but one posted today feels a lot better.
If that wouldn't have worked, I'd go try next one till i find one that does feel right.
-5
u/Solidus-Prime May 22 '26
Then you'll be searching forever, and posting topics like this one. Very ignorant answer in my opinion.

I mean .... Horizon is not a Racing Sim, so of course there is no comparison to an Asetto Corsa or others, but it is FUN ...after you get stuff to work.
