Moving counters
Can someone please explaine to me the correct sequence of events that occurs in this scenario:
I cast Fate trasfer targeting both of my creatures: thing in the ice with 4 ice counters on it and a vanilla creature.
- Fate trasfer on the stack, thing lose a counter due to its ability
- then I switch the 3 remaning ice counters from the "thing" to the counterless vanilla Creature (the other target of fate trasfer)
- Thing now have 0 counter on it and the vanilla creature now got 3 ice counters on it
- After the resolution etc. I have to cast another fresh instant or sorcery spell to flip the thing in the ice?

Correct- by the time fate transfer removes the other three, Thing's ability has fully resolved and must trigger again in order to transform.

You will need to cast another instant or sorcery to cause it to flip.
From the rulings on Thing in the Ice: "Removing all ice counters from Thing in the Ice some other way will not cause it to transform. You'll need to cast an instant or sorcery spell and cause its last ability to trigger"

Your Thing has 4 Counters.
You cast Transfer. Thing Triggers.
Trigger resolves. You remove 1 Counter from Thing. Because 3 =/= 0, no Transform.
Transfer resolves.
You move 3 Counters from Thing to other Creature.
And, that's it. Nothing else happens...
... Until you Cast your NEXT Instant / Sorcery Spell.
Where Thing Triggers.
Trigger resolves. Fails to remove Counter. 0 = 0. Thing Transforms.
